Mobile Car Toilet

Admin 20 de septiembre de 2026

Currently, there are mainly two forms of mobile car toilets: professional designs launched by car companies and self-modifications by car owners.

Professional designs launched by car companies:

  • Seres's in-car toilet: On April 10, 2024, the National Intellectual Property Administration approved Seres's utility model patent for an 'in-car toilet and vehicle'. It adopts a slide-rail design and is usually hidden under the front passenger and driver's seats, not taking up space and not affecting the interior aesthetics. It can be pulled out with one click when in use and pushed back into place after use. This in-car toilet is equipped with a 5L sealed waste collection tank that can effectively collect waste and prevent odor emission. The negative-pressure deodorization system can further eliminate odors and keep the air inside the car fresh. The constant-temperature heating function enhances user comfort. Disposable waste bags make cleaning easy, and the foldable privacy curtain safeguards the user's privacy. This design addresses the toilet needs of users during long-distance travel and highway traffic jams, taking advantage of the long range of new energy vehicles suitable for long-distance self-driving. However, this innovation has also sparked controversy. Some people believe that having a toilet in the car is unhygienic and unsightly, while others, especially family users and off-road enthusiasts who frequently go on long-distance self-driving trips, express understanding and support.
  • In-car toilet accessory from Ji Shi Auto: In 2024, Ji Shi Auto launched an in-car toilet accessory. It is placed in the central storage compartment. To use it, one just needs to lift the lid and place a toilet seat cover on it. The founder of Ji Shi Auto admits that this is essentially an emergency accessory, indicating that its function is relatively simple and mainly provides toilet convenience for users in emergency situations.

Self-modifications of in-car toilets by car owners: Some car owners transform their vehicle trunks into 'mobile bedrooms'. During the transformation process, some car owners consider grooming issues, such as taking open-air showers in their own tents, but it is not clearly mentioned whether they set up dedicated toilet facilities inside the car. However, theoretically, car owners can create a simple toilet space inside the car according to their own needs and the vehicle's space, referring to professional designs and using some simple equipment and materials. But they need to pay attention to hygiene and ventilation issues.
