Mobile Broadband Toilet Settings

Admin 08 de octubre de 2026

If you want to improve the mobile broadband signal in the toilet, you can achieve this by optimizing the router's location, adjusting the router's settings, and adjusting the direction of the external antennas.

Optimize Router Location

The placement of the router has a significant impact on signal coverage. It should be placed in the center of the house, in an open and elevated position, ideally 1 to 1.2 meters off the ground, and away from metal objects, fish tanks, and microwaves. Metal objects can reflect and block signals, interfering with signal propagation; the water in fish tanks can also absorb some signals; microwaves generate electromagnetic interference when in use, severely weakening the signal, especially when turned on, which may cause WiFi to lag in half of the room. For example, do not stack the router next to the weak current box at the entrance of the house, as most of the signal will drift into the hallway. Instead, placing it on a cabinet in the middle of the living room allows the signal to spread more evenly to all rooms, including the toilet.

Adjust Router Settings

Turn off the router's "dual-band integration" function and use the 2.4G and 5G bands separately. The 2.4G band has strong wall-penetration capabilities but relatively slower internet speeds, making it suitable for areas like bedrooms and toilets that are separated by walls. The 5G band offers faster internet speeds but poor wall-penetration capabilities, making it suitable for close-range scenarios like the living room. When "dual-band integration" is enabled, when you move to a bedroom or other area far from the router, your phone may stubbornly hold onto the weak 5G signal and not automatically switch to the more stable 2.4G band, resulting in signal lag. Users only need to find the management address and password on the bottom of the router, enter the backend, and name the two bands separately, such as adding "_5G" to the WiFi name for differentiation. Connect to the 5G band in the living room for streaming and gaming, and switch to the 2.4G band when entering the bedroom or toilet for a more stable signal.

Adjust External Antenna Direction

The direction of the router's external antennas also affects signal coverage. Typically, placing one antenna vertically and the other horizontally helps cover different directions and enhances signal propagation in various areas, including corners like the toilet.
