Mobile Biodegradable Toilet
The mobile biodegradable toilet is an environmentally friendly toilet that utilizes microbial degradation technology to achieve harmless and resource-based treatment of excreta. It offers advantages such as water conservation, pollution-free operation, and mobility, making it suitable for scenic spots, alpine and water-scarce regions, and recreational vehicles (RVs).

Technical Principles and Types
The core technology of mobile biodegradable toilets is microbial degradation, which decomposes feces into water vapor, carbon dioxide, and a small amount of organic fertilizer through specific microbial communities (such as marine microorganisms and anaerobic ammonium oxidation bacteria), enabling waterless and odorless treatment. Some models employ solid-liquid separation technology to further optimize decomposition efficiency. Based on functional differences, they can be classified into three categories:
- Waterless Flush Types: These include waterless packaging types (using biodegradable films to package excreta) and waterless biological treatment fertilizer production types (generating humic organic fertilizer and liquid fertilizer). They do not require water sources or pipelines and are suitable for water-scarce areas.
- Water-Saving Types: Examples include foam-sealing types (with a water-saving rate exceeding 90%) and vacuum self-priming types (consuming 0.5-1 liters of water), which achieve environmental goals by reducing water usage.
- Smart Control Types: These integrate microcomputer systems to automatically sense occupants, trigger lighting/ventilation, and feature temperature and humidity monitoring, air quality monitoring, and intelligent deodorization functions, enhancing the user experience.
Application Scenarios and Advantages
This technology has been widely applied in scenic spots, alpine regions, and public places. For instance, venues for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and the 2024 carbon-neutral public toilets in Chengdu both adopted this technology, saving over 3,000 tons of water annually. In RV scenarios, biodegradable toilets can replace traditional toilets, providing a clean and hygienic environment equipped with storage and ventilation systems. Their advantages include:
- Efficient Degradation: A degradation rate of 97%, odor-free, and hygienic and comfortable.
- Automated Maintenance: No need for manual cleaning or transportation, easy maintenance, freely movable, and不受场地限制 (unrestricted by site).
- Economical and Durable: Saves on construction investment and post-treatment costs, with a steel-frame cement composite structure offering a service life exceeding 20 years.
Maintenance and Costs
Initial operation requires injecting 70-80 kilograms of water to maintain microbial activity, with subsequent maintenance costs being relatively low (e.g., an annual maintenance fee of approximately 15,000 yuan). Some models are equipped with intelligent temperature control systems, operating at temperatures exceeding 60°C, which also provide sterilization and disinfection functions, further reducing operational risks.
Through technological innovation, mobile biodegradable toilets achieve water conservation, pollution-free operation, and resource utilization, making them an ideal environmental solution for mobile scenarios.
