Marine Module Housing Container
Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026
Marine module housing containers are a form of construction that involves disassembling complete houses into standardized modules, completing construction in a factory, shipping them by sea in containers, and quickly assembling them at the destination. The following provides an introduction from several aspects including construction mode, transportation advantages, application scenarios, and market prospects:

- Construction mode: Modular construction is a more highly integrated mode within prefabricated construction. It divides an entire building into independent housing modules and completes most processes such as the main structure, water and electricity pipelines, bathroom waterproofing, bathroom fixtures, cabinets, and wardrobes inside the factory, similar to assembly-line production. Taking a structural modular intelligent factory in Guangdong as an example, its fully automated production line operates continuously with robots working in coordination. A house is disassembled into six components: the bottom, top, and four sides. These are produced simultaneously on multiple sub-production lines and finally assembled into a complete container at the end of the production line. The factory can produce up to 50 modules per day with manufacturing precision stably controlled between 1 and 2 millimeters.
- Transportation advantages: These housing modules can be hoisted onto ships and transported across the ocean, just like containers. Compared to traditional construction, it adopts a parallel operation mode where multiple processes are carried out simultaneously, changing the traditional on-site construction form, greatly shortening the construction cycle, facilitating sea transportation, and reducing transportation costs and losses. For example, 87 modular houses set sail from Xiaomo International Logistics Port in the Shenzhen-Shanwei Special Cooperation Zone for Australia. Relying on the chain of 'Shenzhen R&D + Shanwei manufacturing + direct port shipping', the process was faster with lower transportation losses.
- Application scenarios: They are widely used in overseas residential, hotel, data center, and other projects. For instance, a British merchant purchased Chinese-made modular elderly care apartments. After being shipped from a Chinese factory and arriving at a British port, on-site hoisting and construction were completed in just two weeks. The MRDC modular hotel project by China Construction Science and Industry Corporation in Papua New Guinea also significantly shortened the overall delivery cycle compared to traditional construction.
- Market prospects: With the development of the global construction industry, the modular construction market continues to expand. Data from the General Administration of Customs shows that in the first half of 2026, China's total export value of HS9406 prefabricated buildings increased significantly, with high-end residences and data centers becoming important growth areas. Market research institutions predict that the global modular construction market will further expand by 2030.
