Marine Container House Bathroom
Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026
The design of the bathroom in marine container houses needs to combine technological innovation with renovation standards, balancing functionality and safety. Here are the key points:

I. Core Technological Innovations
- Strengthening of Modular Container Structure: To address the increased local load after converting a container into a bathroom, topological optimization techniques are used to reinforce the openings and key stress points with high-strength composite materials, ensuring long-term stability in humid environments while maintaining lightweight and mobility.
- Independent Water Circulation and Waste Treatment: Integrated miniaturized treatment equipment, such as membrane bioreactors (MBR) or sequencing batch reactors (SBR), enables on-site treatment of domestic sewage. The purified water is reused through a combination of reverse osmosis and ultraviolet disinfection, forming a closed-loop system. Embedded sensors can monitor water quality parameters in real-time, automatically adjusting treatment cycles and chemical dosages.
- Smart Management System: An IoT-based predictive maintenance platform collects data on water consumption, power load, and wastewater treatment status through sensors. After edge computing analysis, the data is uploaded to the cloud, where algorithmic models predict the need for filter replacement and pump maintenance, issuing early operational warnings.
- Environmental Control Technology: Computational fluid dynamics simulations are used to design directional airflow organization, creating negative pressure zones that guide airflow from clean areas to contaminated areas. Heat pump technology integrates space heating, cooling, and hot water preparation functions, offering a higher energy efficiency ratio than traditional split air conditioners and electric heaters combined.
II. Renovation Considerations
- Floor Treatment: Rust must be removed and anti-rust paint applied. A 20mm thick cement mortar leveling layer should be laid, followed by covering with waterproofing membranes or welding stainless steel drainage channels to enhance durability.
- Drainage System: The slope should be no less than 2%, using PVC pipes with a diameter of ≥50mm. Openings should be made in the side walls in advance to avoid damaging the structure later, with drainage outlets directed to external centralized treatment.
- Sealing Treatment: The joints between wall panels and the floor should be sealed with neutral silicone structural adhesive, with waterproof strips pressed in. A 5-10cm high water stop ridge should be set at the corners to block water flow.
- Separation of Water and Electricity: Electrical wiring should be routed through pipes and laid at the top of the container, while water supply and drainage pipes should run along the bottom or side walls, with a minimum distance of ≥30cm between them. Splash-proof sockets and waterproof switches should be used.
- Ventilation and Dehumidification: Forced exhaust fans and active dehumidifiers should be installed, with louvered ventilation openings reserved on the walls. Some containers should have ventilation pipe interfaces reserved for easy installation of additional equipment later.
III. Standard Size Options
- 20-foot Standard Type: With an internal clear space of approximately 5.7 square meters, it can be equipped with a toilet, sink, and shower area.
- 40-foot Extended Type: With an internal clear space of approximately 11.4 square meters, it can include a bathtub or double sink area.
- ISO Standard Small Independent Unit: With external dimensions of 3000mm×2500mm×2800mm, it is suitable for a single-person simple bathroom.
