Long Container House and Movable Panel House

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

There are significant differences between Long container houses and movable panel houses in terms of structure, installation speed, durability, living experience, price, and applicable scenarios.

Structure: Container houses are modified from containers as the base material, with a structure similar to steel building blocks. The entire box is welded shut, with insulation layers sandwiched between the walls. For example, the container houses of Weifang Wanlong Steel Structure Co., Ltd. adopt a light steel structure with a welded and assembled style. Movable panel houses, on the other hand, are constructed with light steel frames and covered with color-coated steel sheets, held together by screws.

Installation speed: Container houses are extremely easy to install. With a crane, they can be ready for occupancy in just 15 minutes, with water and electricity already installed by the factory. In contrast, the installation of movable panel houses is relatively cumbersome, requiring several days of on-site assembly and the construction of a concrete foundation.

Durability: Container houses are sturdy and durable, capable of being moved with furniture intact during relocation, and can last for ten years without falling apart. Movable panel houses, however, deteriorate with each disassembly, and are generally considered scrap after four or five relocations.

Living experience: Container houses offer a high level of comfort, with no drafts in winter, no stuffiness in summer, and sound insulation comparable to that of a building. Movable panel houses, on the other hand, provide a poor living experience, feeling like a steamer in summer and making a clattering noise when raindrops hit the metal sheets.

Price: From a long-term perspective, moving a container house ten times may still be cheaper than using a movable panel house. Considering the costs of disassembly, assembly, and maintenance, movable panel houses can be more expensive in the long run.

Applicable scenarios: If working on a construction site for two or three years or planning to operate a container homestay, container houses are a suitable choice. If only needing temporary storage for tools or a temporary office, movable panel houses can be considered.
