Load-Bearing Container Mobile House
Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026
The load-bearing container mobile house takes a standard container as the carrier and is transformed into an independent functional unit. Its core load-bearing structure and performance characteristics are as follows:

I. Load-Bearing Structure Types and Materials
- Welded Integral Box: It is welded as a whole in the factory. The main beams, columns, and bottom beams are welded with section steels (such as H-section steels and C-section steels) to form a direct load-bearing path. The roof load is transferred through the side-wall columns to the bottom beams and then evenly distributed to the ground. The wall thickness of the steel is usually 1.5 - 3 millimeters. The thicker the wall thickness, the greater the load-bearing redundancy, but the self-weight also increases accordingly. For example, a company in Baotou dispersed the load to each main beam by adding C-section steel purlins between the bottom beams, enabling the box to remain structurally stable even when stacked three layers high.
- Bolt-Connected Assembled Box: It uses standard plates connected by bolts, and there are multiple connection nodes in the load-bearing path. The tightness of the nodes directly affects the overall stability, and the tightness of the bolts needs to be checked regularly. This type of structure is suitable for scenarios with high requirements for transportation convenience but relatively low load-bearing demands.
II. Load-Bearing Capacity and Stability Design
- Load Transfer Mechanism: The welded box forms a rigid structure through the section steel frame and can withstand vertical loads (such as roof snow and equipment weight) and horizontal loads (such as wind and earthquake forces). For example, the rated load capacity of a 20-foot standard container is usually 20 - 30 tons. When transformed into an office or living unit, the internal layout needs to be adjusted according to actual usage requirements to avoid local load concentration.
- Anti-Deformation and Earthquake-Resistant Design: High-quality products adopt integral galvanizing or anti-corrosion coating (such as zinc-rich primer + polyurethane topcoat) to improve the corrosion resistance of the steel and extend the service life to more than 15 years. Some manufacturers reduce the cold-bridge effect and enhance the overall structural integrity by adding thermal-break structures between the steel frame and the interior wall panels (such as filling with rigid polyurethane foam and adding rubber thermal insulation pads).
III. Application Scenarios and Performance Adaptation
- High-Frequency Mobile Scenarios: For example, construction site project departments and temporary command centers, welded boxes are preferred due to their strong anti-deformation ability and suitability for frequent lifting and stacking.
- Long-Term On-Site Office Work: Expandable container houses add lateral or end expansion cabins on the basic structure, increasing the usable area by 30% - 50% after expansion. It is necessary to ensure load-bearing stability by strengthening the section steel frame (such as thickening the columns and adding diagonal braces).
- Adaptation to Extreme Environments: In the windy and sandy areas of northwest China or cold regions, thickened steel (with a wall thickness of ≥ 2.5 millimeters) and high-performance anti-corrosion coatings need to be used. At the same time, the insulation design should be optimized (such as filling with double-layer steel plate sandwich polyurethane) to reduce the stress changes in the structure caused by temperature differences.
