Lanzhou Mobile Toilet
The mobile toilets in Lanzhou feature a variety of brands, rich materials, a wide range of application scenarios, and multiple classification methods, but some old toilets have been relocated.

Brands and Materials
There are various brands of mobile toilets in Lanzhou, such as Sailina, Jintongchuang, Chuangxinyuan, and Yibingsi. In terms of materials, they cover steel structures, color-steel, galvanized sheets, stainless steel, metals, etc. For example, some mobile toilets use hot-dip galvanized materials, with metal carved panels for the wall panels, aluminum alloy for the toilet doors, PVC ceilings for the ceilings, and marble steps at the bottom. This combination of materials not only ensures the durability of the toilets but also enhances their aesthetic appeal.
Suitable Venues
Mobile toilets are suitable for a variety of venues, including stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential communities, large construction sites, squares, as well as densely populated public places and bustling commercial streets. These venues have high foot traffic and a strong demand for sanitation facilities. Mobile toilets can be flexibly arranged to meet the usage needs in different scenarios.
Structural Composition and Classification
Mobile toilets are generally composed of fecal sewage storage tanks (or fecal sewage treatment devices), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. They can be classified into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets based on their structural forms; into hoisting and handling mobile toilets, powered and towed mobile toilets based on their mobility methods; and into water-flush and waterless-flush suction mobile toilets, circulating water-flush mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets based on their sewage treatment methods.
Actual Usage
In 2023, mobile toilets were gradually installed and put into use in the scenic areas along the Yellow River in Lanzhou, providing convenience for tourists. However, there are also some issues. Some mobile toilets have been relocated due to aging from long-term use or factors such as ground subsidence caused by being located on construction sections, occupying sidewalks for the blind, and affecting pedestrian traffic. For example, the public toilet at the entrance of Yintan Zehua Primary School in Qilihe District was relocated on July 4, 2024, due to severe circuit board failures that prevented normal operation and the lack of suitable placement conditions. Currently, due to limited special funds for public toilets and difficulties in recruiting management personnel, it is temporarily impossible to move the mobile public toilets back to their originally recommended locations.
