Is Prefabricated Assembly-Type Housing Reliable?

Admin 19 de septiembre de 2026

Prefabricated assembly-type housing is reliable, which is mainly reflected in the following aspects:

Quality and safety are guaranteed: Prefabricated building technology has matured. During the design phase, various calculation models are used for simulation, and diverse and comprehensive physical experiments are conducted. These measures fully prove that the quality and safety of the housing can withstand the test. Moreover, a large number of its components are produced in factories, which have stricter production environments and quality control systems. The ability to control quality is far greater than that of traditional on-site wet construction, effectively reducing quality hazards.

Good seismic performance: Currently, the seismic performance of prefabricated building structures in China is basically equivalent to that of cast-in-place structures, and some performance even exceeds that of cast-in-place buildings. Taking the grout sleeve connection technology as an example, this technology has undergone long-term experiments and strong earthquake tests and can be used with confidence in high-rise buildings, providing reliable seismic support for the housing.

High construction efficiency: Modular buildings adopt the method of factory manufacturing and on-site assembly, which can significantly shorten the construction period by more than 60%. For example, in a certain place in Henan, it takes only four hours to hoist a prefabricated house, and a building can be completed within two days, greatly saving time costs.

Obvious cost and cost-effectiveness advantages: Prefabricated assembly-type housing adopts factory production methods, achieving large-scale production and reducing production costs. For example, the price per square meter of a cement prefabricated house in a certain place in Henan is about 300 yuan, which is much cheaper than traditional construction methods and has high cost-effectiveness.

Strong environmental protection and sustainability: Modular buildings reduce disturbing factors at the construction site such as noise, dust, construction waste, and traffic congestion, which is in line with the concept of green environmental protection and is conducive to promoting the sustainable development of the construction industry.

However, prefabricated assembly-type housing also has some limitations. The overall integrity and personalization of the housing may not be as good as those of traditional buildings, making it difficult to meet the needs of some residents for unique architectural styles. At the same time, if there are technical problems or improper operations during the assembly process, it may affect the stability and safety of the housing, which requires construction units to have high technical levels and construction experience.
