Is It Good to Lift Container Houses?

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

Container houses can be safely lifted under specific conditions, and lifting is one of their core advantages, but it must strictly adhere to technical specifications and safety requirements.

Basis for Lifting Feasibility

The main frame of a container house is welded from high-strength steel, with a designed load-bearing capacity of up to 90,000 kilograms, enabling it to withstand external forces during transportation and lifting. Its structural strength far exceeds that of ordinary buildings, providing a physical foundation for overall lifting. Additionally, the modular design of container houses allows for rapid transportation using cranes and other equipment, a significant advantage in temporary construction and emergency shelter scenarios.

Core Conditions for Lifting

  1. Dedicated Lifting Components: Container houses that can be lifted must be equipped with dedicated lifting corner fittings and a reinforced bottom frame. Lifting corner fittings are key components connecting lifting equipment to the house and must comply with international standards (such as ISO 1161) or national standards to ensure uniform force distribution during lifting. The reinforced bottom frame prevents structural deformation due to localized stress concentration during lifting.

  2. Safety Factor Requirements: According to national standards, lifting point design must meet a safety factor of 1.5 to 2 times, meaning lifting points must be able to withstand 1.5 to 2 times the weight of the house itself. For example, if the house weighs 10 tons, lifting points must have a load-bearing capacity of 15 to 20 tons to handle dynamic loads (such as the impact force during initial lifting) and unexpected situations.

  3. Lifting Plan and Center of Gravity Control: Manufacturers must provide a clear lifting plan, including lifting point locations, lifting sequence, balance counterweights, and other details, and mark the center of gravity position. Center of gravity deviation can cause the house to tilt or even overturn, so precise calculations are necessary to ensure the house remains level during lifting.

Safety Points During the Lifting Process

  • Equipment Inspection: Before lifting, inspect the rated load capacity and wear of cranes, steel cables, hooks, and other equipment to ensure they meet lifting requirements.
  • Environmental Assessment: Avoid dangerous areas such as high-voltage lines and obstacles, and choose a flat and solid ground as the lifting point.
  • Personnel Training: Operators must have professional qualifications and be familiar with the lifting process and emergency measures to avoid accidents caused by operational errors.

Failure to meet the above conditions and blind lifting can lead to serious consequences such as structural damage and personal injury. Therefore, the lifting of container houses must be based on technical specifications and safety standards, rather than solely relying on their structural strength.
