Is Container House Soundproof and Insulated?
Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026
Container houses, when reasonably designed and treated, possess good soundproofing and insulation properties.

Insulation Performance
- Material and Structural Optimization: Regular cultural and tourism space capsules are internally filled with high-density insulation rock wool, combined with thermal break insulation technology to block heat transfer. The insulation performance of their 100mm composite walls is comparable to that of 610mm-thick traditional brick-concrete structure walls, effectively reducing indoor-outdoor heat exchange and maintaining stable indoor temperatures. For example, the outer anti-corrosion color-coated steel plates of residential container houses reflect sunlight, the middle polyurethane foam layer over 50mm thick blocks heat transfer, and the inner fire-resistant gypsum board + moisture-proof film work together to control humidity and stabilize temperature. Actual measurements show that the cabin's temperature rise is 22 minutes slower than the outdoors at noon in summer, and the indoor temperature only drops by 1.3℃ after being closed for 8 hours in winter.
- Door and Window Design: Doors and windows are made of thermal break aluminum double-glazed glass, which can significantly improve indoor temperature and reduce heat loss or gain, suitable for long-term use in homestays and shops.
Soundproofing Performance
- Wall and Ceiling Treatment: High-quality space capsules add soundproofing and shock-absorbing sealing layers to walls and ceilings to isolate external noise. For example, Zeyu container houses use environmentally friendly, flame-retardant insulation and soundproofing materials internally, effectively solving the pain point of poor soundproofing in traditional container houses, with living comfort comparable to that of brick-concrete structure houses.
- Overall Structural Optimization: During the manufacturing process of some container houses, the overall structure is optimized to reduce the impact of sound transmission through metal materials, meeting the usage needs of homestays, tea houses, and shops. For example, Chengdong International designed employee dormitories for a photovoltaic power station, strengthening soundproofing for the homestay scenario by using double-layer rock wool + double-glazed glass, effectively reducing the intrusion of external noise.
