Husband-Gifted Container House
Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026
The container house gifted by my husband is a temporary or long-term residential or office building based on container modification, featuring environmental protection, energy efficiency, flexible combination, and easy disassembly and transportation, but attention should be paid to fire safety issues.

Types and Characteristics
- Packing-box container house: With a hot-dip galvanized cold-formed steel frame and fire-resistant polyurethane sandwich panels, it offers thermal insulation and fire resistance. It can be used independently or stacked in multiple layers, suitable for construction site dormitories, office areas, and temporary meeting rooms.
- Light steel keel house: Using cold-formed thin-walled light steel keels as the load-bearing structure and filled with thermal insulation materials in the walls, its appearance and layout can be flexibly customized, making it suitable for self-built houses, homestays, and scenic area supporting housing.
- Functional guard booths and supporting housing: Their sizes and internal layouts can be adjusted according to actual needs, commonly found in security guard booths, property guard booths, and environmental protection public toilets.
Price Range
The prices of container houses vary greatly depending on materials, specifications, functions, and other factors. For example, simple foldable container houses can cost as low as a few dozen yuan, while custom-made luxury villa container houses can cost tens of thousands of yuan or even more.
Fire Safety Hazards
- Illegal construction materials: To save costs, some container houses use flammable materials such as polystyrene and polyurethane foam, resulting in poor fire safety.
- Fast burning speed: Flammable materials burn rapidly after ignition, melting and deforming at 80°C and dripping, exacerbating the spread of the fire.
- Difficult firefighting: The fire spreads quickly and is prone to collapse, and the iron sheet wrapping structure hinders water gun spraying, increasing the difficulty of rescue.
- Difficult escape: The combustion produces black smoke and toxic gases, making it difficult for trapped people to survive.
Safe Usage Recommendations
- Material selection: Prioritize the use of Class A fire-resistant materials such as rock wool boards and fire-resistant cotton for filling.
- Fire source management: Keep heat sources and fire sources away from the house, and maintain a safe distance for open flame operations.
- Electrical safety: Protect wires and cables with sleeves, use metal galvanized boxes for socket and switch boxes and install them openly, and equip with firefighting equipment.
- Spacing requirements: Maintain a safe distance of at least 6 meters between container houses.
