Latest Standards for Prefabricated Housing in Hubei
The latest standards for prefabricated housing (prefabricated buildings) in Hubei Province mainly include evaluation standards, component size guidelines, standardized component libraries, and relevant policy requirements, as detailed below:

I. Evaluation Standards
The Hubei Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, in conjunction with the Hubei Provincial Administration for Market Regulation, has issued the local standard Evaluation Standards for Prefabricated Buildings (DB42/T 2179—2024). This standard was released on February 1, 2024, and officially implemented on June 1, 2024. It defines an evaluation index system for prefabricated buildings, covering the entire lifecycle from design, production, construction, to operation and maintenance, providing a scientific basis for quality control of prefabricated buildings in Hubei Province. Its core contents include calculation methods for the prefabrication ratio, grading standards (such as Grade A, Grade AA, Grade AAA), and key technical requirements, such as quantitative provisions for the connection nodes of prefabricated components, structural safety performance, and green energy-saving indicators, promoting the industry towards standardization and normalization.
II. Component Size Guidelines and Standardized Component Libraries
To enhance the standardization level of prefabricated buildings, Hubei Province has compiled and issued the Guidelines for Main Component Sizes of Prefabricated Concrete Structure Residential Buildings in Hubei Province and the Standardized Component Library for Prefabricated Concrete Buildings in Hubei Province, effective from March 1, 2023. The former standardizes the size specifications of main components such as prefabricated wall panels, floor slabs, and stairs, reducing the production of non-standard components and lowering construction costs; the latter promotes collaboration among design, production, and construction phases by establishing a standardized component database, improving component versatility and interchangeability. These two documents effectively address the inefficiency issues caused by the wide variety of components in traditional prefabricated buildings through a "size standardization + component library sharing" model.
III. Policy Requirements
Hubei Province has explicitly stated that starting from 2026, 100% of newly constructed housing projects in central urban areas will adopt prefabricated buildings. This policy imposes strict requirements for the promotion of prefabricated buildings, forcing enterprises to accelerate technological upgrades and industrial chain integration. After implementation, it is expected to drive the development of related industries such as prefabricated component production, intelligent construction equipment, and digital management platforms, while promoting the implementation of green building concepts and contributing to the achievement of the "dual carbon" goals.
