How to Nail a Container House
When nailing a container house, it is necessary to select tools and processes according to the specific structural type. Common methods include using pneumatic coil nail guns, self-tapping screws, self-drilling screws, and cross-flat-head swallow-tail screws, etc. Operations should be carried out in combination with the material of the sheet, the connection part, and construction specifications.

I. Tool Selection and Applicable Scenarios
Pneumatic Coil Nail Gun
It is suitable for wooden structure connections (such as the wooden floors, secondary beams, and bottom beams of container houses). It uses compressed air to drive the striker and can quickly complete nailing operations with nails of a length of 19 - 45mm and a wire diameter of 3.05mm. The working air pressure range is 0.49 - 0.83MPa. For example, when laying the floor base plate, after marking and snapping the chalk line along the center line of the π-shaped beam, use a pneumatic coil nail gun to drive st4.2*38 cross-flat-head swallow-tail screws along the chalk line at intervals of 300 - 350mm.Self-tapping Screws and Self-drilling Screws
- Self-tapping Screws (such as m5.5*19): Used for the initial fixation of π-shaped secondary beams and bottom beams. They need to be tightened after adjusting the diagonal error (≤3mm) of the frame with hexagon socket bolts.
- Self-drilling Screws (such as st4.8*16 round-head self-drilling screws): Used for the secondary reinforcement at the top of π-shaped secondary beams and bottom beams to ensure structural stability.
II. Key Construction Steps and Specifications
Floor Laying and Fixation
- The floor base plate should be cut at an angle according to the pre-drawn chalk line, and the splicing part should coincide with the center line of the π-shaped beam.
- Before nailing, snap double chalk lines on the floor (each deviating 20mm from the center line), and drive cross-flat-head swallow-tail screws along the chalk lines to prevent the nails from deviating and causing the structure to loosen.
Wall and Partition Installation
- When installing partition boards, first use blind rivets to fix the angle aluminum on one side, then install the whole wall panel and the small panel on the door side, and finally tighten the doors and windows with bolts.
- At the internal corners, cut the angle aluminum according to the internal dimensions and install it counterclockwise to ensure that the top corner lines are aligned and there is no overlap.
III. Material and Process Requirements
Matching of Nail Specifications
Select the nail length according to the thickness of the sheet. For example:- For floor fixation, use st4.2*38 swallow-tail screws to ensure that they penetrate the base plate and are embedded in the beam structure.
- For secondary beam connections, use m5.5*19 self-tapping screws to balance penetration and holding power.
Corrosion Resistance and Durability
- Exposed fasteners (such as blind rivets and bolts) should be made of hot-dip galvanized materials, and the welds should be sprayed with epoxy zinc-rich primers to prevent corrosion in high-humidity environments.
- The steel structure frame should be galvanized as a whole or sprayed with anti-corrosion coatings to extend its service life to more than 15 years.
IV. Safety and Quality Control
Adjustment of Nailing Depth
When using a pneumatic coil nail gun, adjust the nailing depth through the knob to prevent the nails from penetrating the sheet or not being embedded in the structural layer.Inspection of Perpendicularity and Joint Filling
During wall installation, ensure that the perpendicularity error is ≤3mm, the depth of joint filling is consistent, and the nailing surfaces are aligned up and down to prevent deformation due to uneven stress.
