How to Make a Container House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Making a container house involves steps such as design planning, foundation construction, structural modification, interior decoration, and equipment installation, as follows:

Design Planning

  • Clarify Requirements: Determine the purpose of the house, such as for self-living, vacation cottage, or homestay, and plan the number of rooms and functional areas, such as bedrooms, living room, kitchen, and bathroom.
  • Site Measurement: Measure the available area of the homestead, the distance from neighbors, the plan dimensions, height, and structural form of existing houses, understand the allowable building height along the street, traffic conditions in front and behind, the position of the road control red line, and the current locations of water and electricity supplies.
  • Design Drawings: Based on requirements and site conditions, design structural drawings and detailed drawings to determine the combination method and spatial layout of containers.

Foundation Construction

  • Land Approval: Obtain approval from relevant departments before construction to ensure legal land use.
  • Foundation Construction: Build a suitable foundation according to the weight and size of the container house, such as a steel frame chassis, using channel steel and square steel for welding to ensure the stability and load-bearing capacity of the chassis.

Structural Modification

  • Container Treatment: Clean, derust, and apply anti-corrosion treatment to second-hand containers, and cut openings for doors and windows according to the design drawings.
  • Container Assembly: Assemble multiple containers, connect them to increase space area, and use full welding and other methods to ensure a firm structural connection.
  • Install Wooden Frames and Insulation Layers: Install wooden frames inside the containers for setting up partitions and fill with insulation materials to improve the insulation performance of the house.

Interior Decoration

  • Wall and Roof Treatment: Use color steel plates, purification plates, and other materials for the splicing of walls and roofs to ensure sealing and waterproofing.
  • Floor Laying: Lay high-grade floor leather, cement fiberboard, or steel-wood composite flooring on the chassis floor to make the floor warm, high-grade, clean, and waterproof.
  • Door and Window Installation: Install specially made color steel plate doors and sliding windows, and install window security grilles.

Equipment Installation

  • Water and Electricity Installation: Pre-bury water and electricity pipelines, install lighting fixtures, switches, and sockets, and reserve air conditioning holes to ensure normal water and electricity supply.
  • Other Equipment: Install a real fire fireplace, solar power generation equipment, well water supply equipment, etc. according to requirements.
