How to Install Locks on Mobile Toilets
Admin 07 de octubre de 2026
The installation of locks on mobile toilets can be carried out according to the following steps, or you can choose an appropriate method based on the type of lock:

Steps for Installing Conventional Locks
- Determine the door opening direction: Stand outside the door facing it. If the strike plate is on the right, it is a right-opening door; conversely, if the strike plate is on the left, it is a left-opening door. Use this to determine subsequent installation details.
- Draw a horizontal line on the door and cut out the installation template: Draw a horizontal line at an appropriate height on the door. Cut out the lock body installation template as required to provide a reference for subsequent operations such as chiseling holes.
- Chisel holes in the door: Align the door edge line and horizontal line of the panel installation template with those of the door. Determine the installation points and mark them. Then, chisel through the elongated kidney-shaped holes according to the marks.
- Place the lock body: Align the horizontal line of the lock body installation template with that on the door. Make a lock body hole (about 12mm wide, 85mm high, and 65mm deep) at the center of the back of the door. After drilling the hole, clean up the residues.
- Drill the body panel hole: With the center of the lock body hole as the reference, drill a hole that is 16mm wide, 130mm high, and 28mm deep, so that the body panel is flush with the side of the door where the lock is installed.
- Install the lock body: After confirming that the arrow on the locked lock body points upwards, place the lock body into the hole. Put on the backing plate, align the hole in the backing plate with the lock hook, and tighten the backing plate with two wood screws to ensure the lock hook moves flexibly and smoothly.
- Install the lock tongue and panels: Insert the lock hook and pull out the key. According to the method of horizontal for left-opening doors and vertical for right-opening doors, pass the lock tongue horizontally or vertically through the cross hole on the lock body. Place the outer panel close to the outer side of the door panel. Align the knob on the inner panel with the lock tongue and insert it. Make sure the two screw holes on the inner panel are directly opposite the two studs on the outer panel. Tighten the inner and outer panels against the door surface with screws (usually two M4 screws). Before installation, check if the sizes of the screws and the lock tongue are suitable. If they are too long, shorten them appropriately.
- Install the strike plate and strike box: Usually, there is a character 'up' on the strike box. Place the side with the 'up' character facing upwards. Drill square holes for the strike plate and holes for the strike box at the corresponding positions on the door frame where the lock hook is located. Insert the strike plate and strike box and tighten them with screws.
- Check the installation: Check all the components. If the door lock opens smoothly, tighten all the screws.
Other Lock Installation Methods
- Bolt lock: Suitable for sliding doors with one fixed side. Install it on the frame of the movable side. The installation is relatively simple and practical.
- Padlock: Can be installed on mobile toilets, but it is not very aesthetically pleasing.
- Buckle lock: It is also an option for later installation.
- Crescent lock: Can be installed in the middle or at the bottom of a sliding door. There is a small object that can be buckled, and then locked after buckling. The installation method is similar to that of windows. When fixing the screws, check if the lock tongue moves flexibly.
- Window buckle lock: Drill holes with an electric drill and fix it with screws. When drilling holes at the bottom, be aware of the presence of sliding rails. Do not drill the holes too low; otherwise, the key cannot be inserted.
