How to Elevate Container Houses

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

Common methods for elevating container houses include concrete foundation + steel frame support, modular拼接 platform, adjustable hydraulic base, and other foundation elevation methods. The appropriate method should be selected based on the usage scenario, cost, and requirements.

1. Concrete Foundation + Steel Frame Support Method
Suitable for long-term fixed use scenarios, this method involves pouring a concrete foundation to form a stable load-bearing platform, and then using a steel frame (such as H-section steel or I-beam) as a secondary support layer. Specific steps include:

  • Foundation Construction: Excavate the foundation trench and fill it with concrete, embedding anchor bolts to secure the steel frame;
  • Steel Frame Installation: Use hot-dip galvanized steel frames for welding or bolt connection to ensure structural strength;
  • Moisture-Proof Treatment: Lay a moisture-proof membrane and install inspection access panels to prevent moisture erosion.
    This method offers strong load-bearing capacity but has a long construction period and high cost. It is important to control the horizontal calibration error within 3mm/m and ensure the bottom of the container is at least 15cm above the ground (30cm or more recommended in humid southern regions).

2. Modular拼接 Platform Method
Suitable for temporary or mobile needs, this method involves rapid assembly using standardized prefabricated components (such as aluminum alloy or high-strength plastic). Key operation points include:

  • Platform Selection: Match the contact area with the bottom of the container to ensure support stability;
  • Height Adjustment: Achieve flexible adjustment by adding or removing module layers or using adjustable feet;
  • Connection and Fixation: Use buckles or bolts to lock the modules and prevent displacement.
    This method offers easy installation and low cost but requires regular inspection of the anti-corrosion layer to prevent material aging due to long-term exposure.

3. Adjustable Hydraulic Base Method
Suitable for environments requiring frequent height adjustments or complex terrain, this method utilizes an electric or manual hydraulic pump to drive the legs to extend or retract. Implementation considerations include:

  • Base Selection: Prioritize hydraulic legs with self-locking functions to prevent accidental slippage;
  • Power Configuration: Choose motors or pump stations based on the scenario to ensure operational convenience;
  • Safety Reinforcement: Add concrete pads and weld anti-slip teeth to enhance stability.
    This method offers strong adaptability and supports remote control but has a high initial cost and requires regular maintenance of the hydraulic system.

4. Other Foundation Elevation Methods

  • Direct Pouring of Concrete Platform: With a thickness of 15-20cm, embed positioning steel plates to secure the container;
  • Steel Frame Support: Weld supports using channel steel or H-section steel and apply anti-rust treatment at the bottom;
  • Embedding Anchor Bolts: Secure the corner fittings of the container and use rubber pads for shock absorption;
  • Placing Prefabricated Concrete Piers: Arrange standard-sized piers according to the corner points of the container.
    Key Considerations: EPDM rubber pads (thickness ≥ 10mm) must be installed on the contact surfaces of steel structures. In areas prone to typhoons, additional diagonal steel wire ropes or wind-resistant columns should be installed.
