How to Connect Electricity for Portable Toilets

Admin 08 de octubre de 2026

Connecting electricity for portable toilets requires selecting an appropriate solution based on the power supply method and strictly adhering to safety regulations. The key points are as follows:

I. Power Supply Method Selection

  1. Mains Power Connection

    • Basic Requirements: It is necessary to connect to the standard municipal power grid (220V/50Hz AC power) and equip it with a residual current circuit breaker. The power connection operation must be carried out by a unit or individual with formal power construction qualifications. Unauthorized connections are strictly prohibited.
    • Wire Specifications: The wires should match the power rating of the equipment. Temporary wires should be made of special cables that are waterproof and sun-resistant. If the wire length exceeds 10 meters, a residual current device should be installed to enhance safety.
    • Distribution Box Installation: The distribution box should be installed in a dry and ventilated location, and the box body should have rainproof facilities. The rated current of the internal circuit breaker should match the power rating of the equipment to avoid the risk of fire caused by overloading.
  2. Solar Power Supply

    • Working Principle: Light energy is absorbed by the solar panels on the top and converted into direct current, which is then converted into alternating current by an inverter for use by the equipment. The excess electricity is stored in batteries.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Suitable for outdoor environments with sufficient sunlight, eliminating the need for an external power supply. However, the status of the batteries (such as charge level and aging degree) should be regularly checked to ensure power supply stability.
  3. Dry Battery Power Supply

    • Features: Suitable for temporary scenarios (such as exhibitions and events), easy to install and requiring no external power supply. However, the power supply capacity and battery life are limited, so it is necessary to estimate the power demand in advance and prepare spare batteries.

II. Safety Precautions

  1. Grounding Protection: All portable toilets must be reliably grounded, with the grounding resistance controlled within 4Ω and the grounding electrode buried at a depth of no less than 0.6 meters to prevent electric shock accidents caused by leakage.
  2. Daily Inspection: During the rental period, it is necessary to check daily whether the wire connections are loose and whether the cables are damaged. After rain, special attention should be paid to checking for leakage to ensure electrical safety.
  3. Sensor Equipment Connection: If sensor-controlled equipment (such as automatic flushing systems) is used, the power wires and solenoid valves should be connected according to specifications. Usually, the red wires are the power wires, and the polarity should be distinguished during connection to avoid short circuits or equipment damage.

III. Operation Specification Summary

  • Mains Power Connection: Prioritize formal power construction to ensure that the wire specifications match the distribution box and avoid overloading.
  • Solar/Dry Battery: Select according to the usage scenario. For solar power, pay attention to light conditions; for dry batteries, reserve sufficient battery life.
  • Safety Core: Grounding protection, daily inspection, and standard connection are key links to ensure electrical safety and should be strictly implemented.
