How to Clean Mobile Toilets

Admin 20 de septiembre de 2026

The cleaning of mobile toilets is mainly carried out based on their sewage discharge methods and sewage treatment types, with core steps including sewage disposal, internal cleaning, and maintenance and unclogging. The specific mechanisms vary depending on the type.

I. Cleaning Mechanisms Classified by Sewage Discharge Methods

  1. Direct-discharge Mobile Toilets
These toilets directly discharge waste through pipes into municipal sewage networks or septic tanks. During cleaning, it is necessary to ensure that the sewage pipes are unobstructed and regularly check the tightness of the connections to prevent leaks. If connected to a septic tank, it should be pumped according to the septic tank cleaning cycle (usually every 3-6 months) to prevent blockages or overflow.

  2. Fecal-tank Mobile Toilets
Waste is stored in an independently sealed fecal tank. During cleaning, a specialized sewage suction truck is used to pump out the waste from the tank. Before operation, the toilet's usage function should be turned off. After pumping, the tank should be flushed with high-pressure water, sprayed with a disinfectant (such as a chlorine-containing disinfectant solution) to kill pathogens, and then ventilated and dried to reduce odors.

II. Cleaning Mechanisms Classified by Sewage Treatment Methods

  1. Flush-type Mobile Toilets
These rely on clean water to flush waste, with the sewage discharged through pipes into a fecal tank or municipal sewage network. During cleaning, the water tank should be replenished, and the flushing system (such as the water pump and nozzles) should be regularly checked for proper operation. If a fecal tank is used, the sewage should be pumped out in a timely manner according to the tank's capacity, and the interior of the tank should be cleaned. If directly discharged into the municipal sewage network, it is necessary to ensure that the pipes are unobstructed.

  2. Waterless Suction-type Mobile Toilets
These use vacuum suction or gravity collection technology to directly suck waste into a sealed container. During cleaning, the container should be emptied using a sewage suction truck, and the inner walls of the container should be flushed with high-pressure water and disinfected. Some models are equipped with solid separation devices, and the solid waste should be cleaned separately to prevent blockages in the suction pipes.

  3. Recirculating Flush-type Mobile Toilets
These treat sewage through biodegradation or physical filtration technology to achieve water recycling. During cleaning, the filtration materials (such as activated carbon and biofilms) should be regularly replaced, the solid residue in the sedimentation tank should be cleaned, and microbial agents should be added to maintain degradation efficiency. At the same time, the quality of the recirculating water should be tested to ensure it meets hygiene standards.

III. General Cleaning and Maintenance Operations

Regardless of the type, the cleaning of mobile toilets should include the following:

  • Internal Cleaning: Use a neutral detergent to wipe the toilet bowls, walls, and floors to remove stains and odors.
  • Ventilation Maintenance: Check whether the exhaust fans or ventilation devices are functioning properly to ensure air circulation.
  • Consumable Replacement: Regularly replace consumables such as toilet paper and air fresheners, and check the functionality of accessories such as door locks and lighting.

By classifying and treating them and conducting regular maintenance, mobile toilets can remain hygienic and operate efficiently.
