How to Choose a Prefabricated House Structure

Admin 18 de septiembre de 2026

When selecting a prefabricated house structure, it is necessary to evaluate factors such as type, construction speed, cost, environmental friendliness, flexibility, quality, and structural characteristics comprehensively. The following aspects can be considered in detail:

1. Choose the prefabricated house type based on its purpose
There are various types of prefabricated houses, and the choice should be made according to the usage scenario. Modular homes are suitable for long-term residence. The entire modules are manufactured in the factory, and on-site assembly is highly efficient, making them ideal for family homes or small communities. Prefabricated panel houses are mainly constructed with concrete panels or light steel structures, offering low costs and fast construction, and are commonly used for temporary buildings or construction site dormitories. Container houses, transformed from discarded or new containers, can be rapidly deployed and are suitable for tourist homestays, emergency shelters, and other scenarios. Wooden prefabricated houses, primarily made of wood, emphasize environmental friendliness and a natural style, making them suitable for vacation villas or ecological projects.

2. Evaluate the need for construction speed
The core advantage of prefabricated houses is efficient construction. If rapid occupancy is required (such as for post-disaster reconstruction or temporary accommodation), modular homes or container houses should be prioritized, as their construction periods are more than 50% shorter than those of traditional buildings. For example, a 100-square-meter prefabricated home can be completed in 1-2 months, while a traditional brick-and-mortar structure takes more than 6 months.

3. Control the cost budget
Prefabricated houses optimize material and labor costs through factory production. The construction cost of an ordinary prefabricated house is approximately 1,000-3,000 yuan per square meter, far lower than that of traditional high-end residences (over 5,000 yuan per square meter). If the budget is limited, prefabricated panel houses or container houses can be prioritized; if long-term use and quality are pursued, modular homes or wooden prefabricated houses are more suitable.

4. Pay attention to environmental protection and energy efficiency
Prefabricated houses reduce dust, noise, and waste pollution during production and construction, with some using recyclable materials such as light steel and wood. High-end prefabricated homes also integrate solar panels, insulation materials, and intelligent energy-saving systems, with energy efficiency designs meeting national green building standards. If environmental protection is a priority, such products can be chosen first.

5. Consider flexibility and mobility
Modular design allows prefabricated houses to have customizable layouts and even be disassembled and reassembled in the future. Container houses and light steel structure houses are particularly suitable for scenarios requiring frequent relocation (such as tourist homestays or construction site dormitories), a feature that traditional buildings cannot achieve.

6. Ensure quality controllability
The factory production environment is strict, making it easier to control the quality of components. If choosing a prefabricated panel structure house, it is necessary to determine the structural type by observing floor panel gaps, knocking to listen for sounds, and checking crack characteristics, and prioritize houses with cast-in-place floors built after 2003 (as policies prohibit the construction of new prefabricated panel commercial housing).
