How Does Mobile Toilet Drain Water

Admin 28 de septiembre de 2026

The drainage methods of mobile toilets mainly include conventional water-flushing type, vacuum sewage system, water-storage sewage system, recirculating water-flushing type, dry-packing type, water-flushing and waterless-flushing suction type, and some also use biodegradation technology for auxiliary treatment.

  1. Conventional water-flushing type: It requires connection to water supply and drainage pipes. The flushing is triggered by manual or automatic induction devices, and the sewage is discharged into a septic tank or municipal sewer network. It mainly relies on external water sources and sewage pipes, and is suitable for places with complete infrastructure such as city parks and construction sites. It has low construction costs and is easy to maintain.

  2. Vacuum sewage system: It uses a vacuum pump to generate negative pressure and quickly sucks sewage and waste through pipes into a sealed collection container. When the sewage reaches the preset water level, the system automatically starts suction. It has the advantages of low water consumption (only 0.5-1 liters per flush), prevention of leakage and odor diffusion, and is commonly found in high-end event venues or areas with strict environmental protection requirements.

  3. Water-storage sewage system: It discharges waste into an independent water storage tank through water flushing. When the tank is full, it needs to be manually cleaned or replaced. This method relies on regular maintenance and is suitable for places with sufficient water sources but inconvenient access to sewage pipes, such as temporary exhibitions or remote scenic spots.

  4. Recirculating water-flushing type: It is equipped with an intermittent aerobic-anaerobic treatment device. After adding biological strains, it uses biofilm technology to accelerate the fermentation and decomposition of feces. The treated reclaimed water is recycled for toilet flushing, forming a closed-loop system. It significantly saves water resources and reduces sewage discharge, and is mostly used in water-scarce areas or ecologically sensitive areas.

  5. Dry-packing type: It has no flushing device. Feces are received by a biodegradable plastic bag at the bottom of the toilet. After use, it is automatically sealed and replaced with a new bag. The collected fecal bags are transported to a treatment plant for centralized treatment, and no water is required throughout the process. It is suitable for arid areas or temporary emergency scenarios.

  6. Water-flushing/waterless-flushing suction type: The water-flushing type places a water tank on top of the toilet and has a sewage tank at the bottom; the waterless-flushing type directly receives excreta through a sewage pool. Both require regular pumping of the contents of the sewage tank to prevent overflow, and are commonly found in mobile toilet vehicles or remote construction sites.

In addition, some mobile toilets incorporate biodegradation technology. Microorganisms decompose organic matter in the sewage and convert it into harmless carbon dioxide and water for discharge, further reducing the risk of environmental pollution.
