Homestay House with Container Design

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

It is feasible to design homestay houses using containers, but attention should be paid to renovation techniques, cost control, and unique style to meet the needs of comfortable living and commercial operations.

Renovation techniques are the core foundation: Standardized containers are used as the carrier by reputable manufacturers. If retired containers are selected, standardized anti-corrosion treatments such as rust removal and anti-corrosion paint application are carried out first, followed by cutting to create windows and doors. Insulation layers such as rock wool or extruded polystyrene boards are installed inside to solve heat insulation and preservation problems, while bathrooms, bedding, and furniture are fully equipped. By combining multiple containers through splicing, stacking, and horizontal combination, large apartment types such as duplexes and lofts can be expanded to meet different accommodation needs. If the renovation techniques are not up to standard, problems such as container corrosion and poor insulation are likely to occur in the later stages, seriously affecting the occupancy experience. For example, when dealing with container houses, Baotou Xinxing Color Plate Steel Structure Manufacturing Co., Ltd. added C-shaped steel purlins between the bottom beams to optimize the anti-corrosion and load-bearing of the steel structure, ensuring structural stability even when the containers are stacked three layers high. After shot blasting and rust removal on the container surface, protective paint is applied, enabling the steel to maintain an effective service life of more than 15 years in the windy and sandy environment with large temperature differences in northwest China.

Significant advantages in cost and delivery cycle: Container homestays are mostly prefabricated and renovated in factories, with only basic construction and water and electricity connections required on-site, resulting in high delivery efficiency. A single container renovation generally takes 15 to 30 days, much faster than the 3 to 6-month construction period of traditional homestays, allowing operators to open for business earlier and recover costs. Moreover, the cost of purchasing retired containers is lower than that of traditional building materials, making the overall cost more controllable. It also reduces on-site construction pollution and labor input, lowering the overall project cost.

Unique style and experience attract customers: Nowadays, tourists seek niche and personalized accommodation experiences. Reliable manufacturers can create products with a strong industrial style. The exposed container structure and metallic appearance, combined with elements such as graffiti, green plants, and lighting, can create popular photo spots. Details such as the original container logos and locks can also be retained according to the operator's needs to strengthen the theme and help attract customers and create differentiation.
