Homemade Mobile Toilet Tutorial

Admin 22 de septiembre de 2026

You can choose from the following three tutorials for making a homemade mobile toilet based on different materials and needs:

I. Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Barrel

  1. Basic Structure Construction: Use an angle grinder to split the water storage barrel in half lengthwise and take one half as the main body. Fix universal wheels on a wooden board, and use self-tapping screws to fix wooden strips on the upper side of the barrel to increase its height. Cut an opening on the side and install sponge strips to form a door frame.
  2. Wall and Roof Installation: Insert plastic soft boards to form the walls. Invert the upper half of the barrel and place it on top as the roof. Apply waterproof paint to the wooden strips to enhance durability.
  3. Drainage System Design: Drill a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. Connect a plastic barrel on the side as a water storage device. Use a tee joint to connect the shower and the inlet pipe of the washbasin.
  4. Toilet and Washbasin Installation: Place the toilet and fix the water tank. Connect the drain pipe to the sewage barrel. Supply water to the washbasin through a horizontally extended water pipe and seal all connections with glass glue.

II. Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet

  1. Mobile Chassis Construction: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a pallet. Place the water storage tank and cut the top to form an opening. Stack two tanks and fix them with self-tapping screws.
  2. Doorway and Drainage Treatment: Cut a rectangular doorway. Drill a hole in the interior floor and install an elbow and a water pipe. Cut off the excess parts and seal the gaps.
  3. Toilet and Plumbing Installation: Align the toilet with the drain outlet and fix it. Install a faucet and a washbasin on the wall using clips. Connect the drain pipe with a pipe cap and connect the water tank to the inlet pipe and the shower hose.
  4. Door and Accessory Completion: Make a door using a wooden board and hinges. Install a door handle. Fix the toilet seat and a spray-type showerhead.

III. Making a Flexible Mobile Toilet Using PVC Pipes

  1. Base and Wheel Construction: Drill holes in a plastic cover and install a set of wheels. Cut straight pipes and connect them to form the base frame. Use tee joints to piece together the frame.
  2. Main Structure Extension: Install straight pipes and elbows with reducers vertically. Fix wooden footrests and a backrest. Install plastic pipe handrails on the front and use flexible tubes for edge wrapping.
  3. Functional Hole Design: Cut a circular hole in the center of the wooden board as the toilet opening. The overall structure is lightweight and movable, suitable for temporary use scenarios.

Precautions:

  • Wear goggles and gloves during operation to avoid injury from debris generated by the angle grinder or electric drill.
  • Seal the connections of the drain pipes with glass glue or waterproof tape to prevent leakage.
  • Regularly clean the sewage barrel of the mobile toilet to maintain a hygienic environment.
