Mobile Toilet Layer Requirements for High-Rise Buildings

Admin 10 de octubre de 2026

The requirements for the number of floors at which mobile toilets should be installed in high-rise buildings depend on the building type and usage scenario, with specific regulations as follows:

1. Super High-Rise Buildings (Design Phase)
According to Article 6.6.3 of the Unified Standard for Civil Building Design (GB50352-2019), super high-rise buildings (with a building height exceeding 100 meters) should have a mobile toilet installed every three floors. This regulation aims to ensure the convenience of daily use for high-rise occupants and prevent difficulties in accessing restrooms due to excessive floor heights. For example, a 120-meter super high-rise office building should have mobile toilets installed on every third floor, such as the 3rd, 6th, and 9th floors, and the toilet locations should be close to the vertical transportation core areas (e.g., elevator lobbies) for quick access.

2. High-Rise Building Construction Phase
Based on the Construction Safety Inspection Standard (JGJ59-2011) and the Safety Technical Code for High-Altitude Operations in Construction (JGJ80-2016), mobile toilets should be installed every four floors after construction exceeds eight floors. This requirement addresses the needs of workers during the construction period, balancing cost-effectiveness and practicality. For example, a 30-story high-rise residential building under construction should have mobile toilets installed on every fourth floor starting from the 9th floor, such as the 9th, 13th, and 17th floors, and the toilets should be located near construction elevators or main work areas, equipped with anti-slip and deodorization measures.

3. Temporary Facilities on Construction Sites
According to the Environmental and Sanitary Standard for Construction Sites (JGJ146), mobile toilets and smoking areas should be installed every three floors within the building. This regulation applies to the configuration of temporary facilities throughout the construction period, emphasizing coordinated management of hygiene and safety. For example, a 20-story commercial complex under construction should have mobile toilets and smoking areas installed simultaneously on every third floor, such as the 3rd, 6th, and 9th floors, and the toilets should be equipped with handwashing basins, ventilation equipment, and regularly cleaned and disinfected.

Key Considerations:

  • The location of mobile toilets should avoid main passageways but ensure accessibility within 50 meters;
  • During the construction phase, toilets should be equipped with septic tanks or connected to temporary sewage pipes to prevent environmental pollution;
  • For super high-rise buildings, mobile toilets should consider structural loads and prioritize lightweight materials;
  • All mobile toilets must comply with the basic sanitary requirements of the Sanitary Standard for Urban Public Toilets (GB/T 17217).

In practice, the plan should be further refined based on the building's function (e.g., residential, office, commercial), construction period, and local supplementary regulations.
