High-end Container House Design

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

High-end container house design needs to take into account structural stability, functional rationality, aesthetics, and sustainability. The following is an introduction from four aspects: design points, material selection, space utilization, and innovative practices:

Design Points

  • Structural Design: Determine the frame structure according to the usage scenario. For example, areas prone to earthquakes require a more robust structure, and areas with strong winds need to consider wind protection design. For instance, Yiqi Company uses high-strength weathering steel (such as Q355B grade) as the main frame of the container body. The yield strength is increased by about 30% compared to ordinary carbon steel. When the length-to-width ratio of a single container body is close to 2:1, a self-balancing system is formed through rigid connections between corner fittings and side beams, reducing the need for additional reinforcement parts and material usage.
  • Functional Design: Reasonably arrange the space according to different uses. For example, in a container coffee space, an open service area and sales point are set up in the front, a storage area is arranged in the back, and an accessible restroom is also provided to meet diverse needs.

Material Selection

  • Steel: Give priority to high-strength and corrosion-resistant steel, such as the high-strength weathering steel mentioned above, to ensure structural stability and durability.
  • Envelope Structure Materials: Adopt a composite structure to improve thermal performance. For example, a three-layer composite structure of "rock wool - air layer - aluminized zinc plate" is used. The thickness of the rock wool layer is 75 mm to 100 mm, and the thermal conductivity is limited to below 0.040 W/(m·K). The 5 mm air layer in the middle inhibits convective heat transfer, and the overall heat transfer coefficient (U-value) is lower than 0.5 W/(m²·K).
  • Coating Materials: The surface anti-corrosion coating adopts a combination of "epoxy zinc-rich primer + polyurethane topcoat". The zinc powder content in the primer is over 80%, and the topcoat is added with nano-silica particles, with a hardness of 3H level. It can resist wind and sand erosion and extend the service life of the steel structure.

Space Utilization

  • Modular Combination: Utilize the standardized module design of containers for flexible stacking and splicing to create different spatial scales. For example, a huge black container building is composed of 16 construction-specific containers to form a four-story building.
  • Internal Space Optimization: Adopt a functional overlapping strategy. For example, compress the kitchen and restroom to one end of the container body to form a wet area, and realize day-night functional switching in the living and sleeping areas through the variability of furniture.

Innovative Practices

  • Connection Node Innovation: For example, Yiqi Company introduces a dual-fixing mode of "wedge-shaped lock + high-strength bolt" at the container body connection to improve earthquake resistance adaptability.
  • Sustainable Design: Focus on material reusability and energy conservation. For example, container houses can be disassembled and relocated multiple times, reducing relocation costs and resource waste.
