Effect of Prefabricated Houses in Henan

Admin 18 de septiembre de 2026

The overall effect of prefabricated houses in Henan is good, with outstanding performance in construction speed, cost, structural lifespan, and other aspects, but there are also some shortcomings.

Extremely Fast Construction Speed: The construction process of cement "prefabricated houses" used in rural areas of Henan is similar to building with blocks. After the prefabricated cement slab components are transported to the construction site, a few workers can complete the assembly of a villa in just four hours, and even constructing an entire building only takes two days. This efficient construction method significantly shortens the construction cycle, quickly meeting residential needs, especially suitable for situations where housing is urgently needed, such as reconstruction after natural disasters cause house damage.

Relatively Low Cost: The cost per square meter is only about 300 yuan, with variations depending on the size of the house. The cost of a large villa is just over 100,000 yuan, with some saying a villa costs around 150,000 yuan, and others mentioning that a 200-square-meter house only costs 60,000 yuan. The relatively low cost makes it more affordable for rural families, reducing the financial burden of house construction and helping to improve rural living conditions.

Sturdy Structure and Long Lifespan: The entire house adopts a full reinforced concrete structure, with each room weighing about 30 tons. This structure gives the house high strength and stability, allowing it to be inhabited for 70 years without problems. It can provide residents with a long-term and stable living environment, reducing the hassle of frequent repairs or reconstruction due to house aging.

Appearance Similar to Conventional Houses: The appearance is almost the same as that of houses built with conventional techniques, not appearing out of place due to the use of prefabrication. It can blend well into the overall rural environment, meeting residents' aesthetic needs for house appearance.

Existing Shortcomings: The design may not be flexible enough to meet the personalized house-building needs of some residents; the thermal insulation performance and the seismic performance in earthquake-prone areas need further research and improvement to enhance the living comfort and safety of the houses in different environments.
