On the evening of August 29, 2020, the Daxing Police Station of the Yaohai Branch of the Hefei Public Security Bureau received a report that a mobile toilet located near the intersection of Tianmen Mountain Road and Longgang Road had been stolen. As a public facility, the theft of this mobile toilet not only affected the normal use of surrounding residents but also caused a loss of public resources. The police quickly intervened in the investigation and gradually identified the suspects by reviewing surrounding surveillance footage and interviewing local residents.

Case Investigation Process

After several consecutive days of investigation, the police discovered the stolen mobile toilet at the doorstep of suspect Xia's residence on the afternoon of September 1. Due to the large number of family members, Xia, in inconvenience for using the toilet, conspired with two others to commit the theft on the evening of August 29. They took advantage of the late-night hours to move the entire mobile toilet away from its original location, intending to use it for their own purposes. However, their actions were quickly detected by the police, and they were ultimately apprehended.

Handling of Suspects

Upon interrogation, Xia and the other two individuals confessed to the crime of stealing the mobile toilet. Currently, the suspects have been taken into custody, and the case is under further trial. The police stated that they would severely punish such acts of stealing public facilities in accordance with the law to maintain social order and public interests.
