Hangzhou Mobile Toilet for the Disabled

Admin 06 de octubre de 2026

Hangzhou has mobile toilet facilities specifically designed for the disabled, namely barrier-free mobile bus toilets. The following provides an introduction from the aspects of facility configuration, usage process, functional features, and deployment status:

Facility Configuration
This mobile bus toilet was purchased by West Lake Environmental Group. Its exterior is no different from that of an ordinary bus, but its interior space has undergone special modifications. The bus is equipped with five independent toilets and one independent toilet for special populations, with the latter optimized for the needs of the disabled. A special door is installed in the middle of the bus, and an electric wheelchair lift is provided below the door to assist the disabled in boarding and alighting. Additionally, the bus is equipped with air conditioning, USB charging ports, and other facilities to enhance user comfort.

Usage Process
When using this facility, staff members control the electric wheelchair platform to descend using a remote control button, opening the front barrier to make it flush with the ground. The disabled can then push their wheelchairs onto the platform by themselves, sit securely, and the platform slowly rises to be flush with the bus floor. Subsequently, the wheelchair can be pushed out and turned left to enter the independent toilet for special populations. The entire process takes only two to three minutes, making it convenient and safe to operate.

Functional Features
The design of the independent toilet for special populations is more considerate, with handrails installed on both sides of the toilet to facilitate the disabled in getting up or maintaining balance. As a support facility for the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Para Games, this mobile bus toilet not only meets basic toilet needs but also focuses on enhancing user experience, such as regulating the interior temperature through air conditioning and providing USB charging ports. Moreover, this facility requires only one driver to operate, offering high flexibility. It can be quickly deployed to crowded areas as a supplement to fixed public toilets, alleviating the problem of insufficient supply.

Deployment Status
According to early information, this mobile bus toilet needs to go through road approval procedures and is expected to be officially put into use in April. However, it should be noted that this information was released earlier, and it is recommended to further verify whether it has been put into use currently. The latest progress can be obtained by contacting West Lake Environmental Group or querying Hangzhou's local municipal service announcements.
