Fully Prefabricated Concrete House

Admin 18 de septiembre de 2026

A fully prefabricated concrete house is a form of construction that involves industrial production of building components and on-site assembly, offering advantages such as short construction periods, controllable quality, energy efficiency, environmental protection, and lower costs.

1. Definition and Types
A fully prefabricated concrete house typically refers to a prefabricated concrete assembled house, also known as a prefabricated modular building or modular construction. Its core involves the standardized production of building components (such as beams, slabs, walls, and columns) in factories, followed by transportation to the construction site for assembly. The main types include:

  • Panel-based Assembly: Using prefabricated wall panels and floor slabs as the main components, assembled into an overall structure through connectors;
  • Box-based Assembly: Entire rooms or functional modules (such as bathrooms and kitchens) are prefabricated in factories as independent “boxes” and directly assembled on-site;
  • Frame-based Assembly: Using prefabricated concrete frames (columns and beams) as the skeleton, combined with prefabricated wall panels or infill materials to complete the building.

2. Construction Process and Technical Features
The construction process is similar to “building with blocks”:

  • Factory Prefabrication: The building is broken down into independent modules, with structural fabrication (such as ceilings and floors) and interior finishing (plumbing, electrical wiring, doors, and windows) completed in the factory, achieving integrated “production-finishing”;
  • On-site Assembly: After the components are transported to the site, they are quickly assembled using lifting equipment, reducing on-site wet work (such as concrete pouring).
    Technologies Involved: Prefabricated concrete structures and steel structures, with component connections using high-strength bolts, welding, or prestressed techniques to ensure structural safety.

3. Core Advantages

  • Short Construction Period: Modular construction reduces the project duration by more than 60% compared to traditional construction. For example, a public housing project in Shenzhen, Guangdong, used 6,028 concrete modules to assemble five nearly 100-meter-high buildings, reducing the construction period from 2.5-3 years to just 1 year;
  • Controllable Quality: Standardized factory production eliminates human errors, ensuring high dimensional accuracy and strong quality stability of components;
  • Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection: On-site labor is reduced by about 50%, significantly lowering noise, dust, and construction waste, while alleviating traffic congestion;
  • Lower Costs: A rural “prefabricated house” in Henan, made entirely of reinforced concrete, costs about 300 yuan per square meter, with a total cost of only 60,000 yuan for a 200-square-meter house, highlighting its economic efficiency.

4. Application Scenarios
Suitable for large-scale projects such as public housing, schools, and hospitals, as well as cost-sensitive scenarios like rural self-built houses. Its industrial production model is particularly well-suited for areas with limited land resources and high environmental requirements.
