Comparison Between Fixed and Mobile Public Toilets

Admin 11 de octubre de 2026

There are significant differences between public toilets fixed at a certain location and mobile public toilets in terms of structure, service life, location flexibility, supporting facilities, and cost maintenance.

Structure and Construction: Fixed public toilets are constructed using sturdy materials such as brick-concrete and reinforced concrete, with a structure similar to that of ordinary civil buildings. The construction period is long, requiring professional design, construction, and site selection planning approval, resulting in strong overall stability. Mobile public toilets, on the other hand, primarily use steel structures and color-coated steel plates, with a relatively simple structure. They can be prefabricated in factories and assembled on-site, offering flexible installation and easy mobility without the need for complex construction processes.

Service Life: Fixed public toilets are designed for a service life of several decades, with a long overall usage cycle suitable for long-term and stable demand scenarios. Mobile public toilets typically have a service life of 10 to 15 years, with the specific duration affected by product quality and usage environment. For example, humid or corrosive environments may shorten their lifespan.

Location and Flexibility: Fixed public toilets have a fixed location and are difficult to move once determined. They are usually placed in areas with high and stable pedestrian traffic, such as shopping malls, stations, and parks. Mobile public toilets can be flexibly adjusted in location and can be quickly transferred to short-term demand scenarios such as temporary event sites, construction sites, and emergency rescue sites, for example, temporary events like music festivals and sports events.

Supporting Facilities: Fixed public toilets have comprehensive supporting facilities, usually equipped with water supply and drainage, power supply, and ventilation systems, as well as washbasins, mirrors, and other facilities, providing a more comfortable toilet environment. Mobile public toilets vary greatly in facilities. Simple models only have basic sanitary facilities; high-end models can be fully equipped, but some require external auxiliary equipment such as water storage tanks and generators. For example, waterless flushing suction models require regular cleaning of excreta.

Cost and Maintenance: Fixed public toilets have high initial construction costs and high daily maintenance costs, requiring regular inspection and repair of building structures, water and electricity pipelines, etc. Mobile public toilets have relatively low purchase costs but higher subsequent costs for movement, maintenance, and management, such as regular cleaning of excreta and equipment maintenance.
