Field Training Container House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Using container houses for field training offers advantages such as portability, sturdiness, and functional expandability, but also poses challenges like fire hazards and limited living comfort. It is necessary to select appropriate types based on specific needs and ensure safety measures are in place.

Advantages

  • Portability and Rapid Assembly: Container houses feature a modular design, allowing for transportation as a whole or in disassembled parts. They can be quickly assembled upon arrival at the field training site. For example, the field folding barracks used by a combined brigade of the 82nd Group Army can be set up by a few soldiers in just 15 minutes, significantly saving time on setting up camp and meeting the needs of frequent troop relocations and rapid deployments.
  • Sturdiness and Durability: Containers are typically made of steel, providing excellent durability and the ability to withstand various harsh weather conditions, such as strong winds and heavy rain, offering a relatively safe living and working environment for field training personnel.
  • Strong Functional Expandability: They can be customized and modified according to different field training requirements. For instance, the new-type field shower cubicle adopts an expandable container design. When closed, it is a standard container, but when expanded, it becomes a shower cubicle integrating water heating, temperature control, and showering, and is also equipped with a changing tent. Additionally, the container expansion module can increase the usable area by 100%-200% through a hydraulic telescopic structure, meeting diverse functional needs.

Disadvantages

  • Fire Hazards: Behind the seemingly sturdy container houses lie numerous fire hazards. For example, fires have occurred in a container shack in Linping District, Hangzhou, two container-modified houses on Yinhe South Road in Langfang, and a container mobile home in Binhai New Area, Tianjin. These fire incidents are mostly caused by electrical circuit faults.
  • Limited Living Comfort: There may be deficiencies in insulation, soundproofing, and ventilation. For example, the container houses where the Chinese men's basketball team stayed during the Nagoya Asian Games had issues with soundproofing, ventilation, and insulation. During heavy rain, problems like dampness and water leakage could also occur, affecting the living experience and training performance.
