Field Container Renovated House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

When renovating container houses in the field, it is necessary to comprehensively consider structural safety, functional design, and environmental adaptability. Through reasonable planning, comfortable and practical living spaces can be created.

I. Structural Safety and Material Selection The core of renovating container houses is to ensure structural stability. There are two common types on the market: welded integral containers and bolt-connected assembled containers. Welded containers are formed as a whole in the factory, with a direct force path and strong resistance to deformation, making them suitable for scenarios requiring frequent movement. Assembled containers are connected with standard steel plates using bolts, and it is necessary to focus on checking the tightness of the connection nodes. It is recommended to choose steel plates with a thickness of 1.5 mm to 3 mm for the columns and bottom beams. The thicker the plate, the stronger the load-bearing capacity, but the self-weight will also increase. In addition, the coating process directly affects the anti-corrosion performance. Hot-dip galvanizing is more corrosion-resistant than cold-dip galvanizing and is especially suitable for areas with large temperature differences between day and night and significant humidity changes.

II. Functional Design and Space Utilization The internal space of containers is limited, so modular design is required to maximize functionality. For example, foldable furniture such as foldable beds and tables can be used to save space; storage cabinets can be installed on the walls to increase storage capacity; and expandable hydraulic decks or terraces can be set up to expand the activity area. In some cases, the sides of containers are expanded using electric hydraulic systems to form deck terraces, and the interior and exterior are separated only by wire mesh glass walls, ensuring ventilation and lighting while reducing direct sunlight.

III. Environmental Adaptability and Comfort The field environment places higher demands on the insulation, waterproofing, and power supply of houses. For insulation, thermal insulation materials such as rock wool boards can be added to the walls. For waterproofing, special attention should be paid to the roof and joints to ensure no leakage. Power supply can be provided by solar panels to meet basic electricity needs. For example, a container home deep in a forest has three solar panels installed on the roof to solve the electricity problem, and lifting rods are used at the four corners to ensure sufficient indoor light and ventilation.

IV. Cost and Personalization The cost of renovating container houses varies depending on the materials and design complexity. Second-hand containers are relatively inexpensive. For example, a standard 3 m × 6 m second-hand container costs about 4,000 yuan, but additional renovation costs are required. Personalized design can be achieved through window opening, irregular shape modification, and interior material selection, such as using floor-to-ceiling glass to enhance lighting or bamboo and wood finishes to improve texture.
