Erwei Container House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

The prices of second-hand container houses vary depending on specifications, condition, configuration, and regional differences. The price range for the common 6-meter specification is typically between 3,000 yuan and tens of thousands of yuan. The following provides an introduction from four aspects: price range, influencing factors, purchasing channels, and precautions.

I. Price Range
The price range for second-hand container houses is wide. Taking a 6-meter standard container as an example:

  • Basic Refurbished Model: Only rust removal and painting, replacement of old floors, and simple electrical and plumbing repairs are carried out. The price is usually within 10,000 yuan, suitable for scenarios with limited budgets and low requirements for living conditions.
  • Premium Refurbished Model: Equipped with new rock wool insulation, Class A fire-resistant materials, new electrical systems, PVC floors, and hollow glass windows, etc. The price requires face-to-face negotiation and may exceed 20,000 yuan, suitable for scenarios with high requirements for comfort and safety.
  • Special Discounted Containers for Construction Sites: These are in poor condition, possibly with rust or damage, and are priced within 3,000 yuan. However, freight and lifting costs must be paid by the buyer, and the later maintenance costs are high. Generally, it is not recommended to purchase these.
  • Other Specifications: For example, a 40-foot (about 12-meter) container house may be more expensive, with luxury models equipped with bathrooms costing between 50,000 and 60,000 yuan.

II. Price Influencing Factors

  • Container Condition: Containers with no bending or rusting of the four corner columns and bottom crossbeams, no cracking of welds, and no water accumulation or rusting at the bottom are priced higher. Houses with no rust holes in the corrugated sheets and no water leakage on rainy days are more durable.
  • Configuration Level: Whether doors, windows, insulation, electrical systems, and floor materials are added will affect the price. For example, PVC floors are more expensive than old floors.
  • Regional Differences: Market supply and demand relationships and transportation costs in different regions may lead to price fluctuations. For example, prices in first-tier cities like Shanghai may be slightly higher than in other regions.
  • Bulk Purchases: Buying 10 or more containers at once may qualify for wholesale prices, which need to be negotiated with the manufacturer.

III. Purchasing Channels

  • B2B Platform or Manufacturers: Contact suppliers through platforms like 1688 or directly consult local integrated housing companies (there are yards in cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Hangzhou, and Chongqing).
  • Local Physical Stores: Some cities have specialized container house sales or leasing companies where you can inspect the container condition in person.
  • Waiting Around Construction Sites: Contact the project manager or logistics department 1-2 weeks before the completion of an ongoing project to potentially purchase discounted containers, but you need to handle transportation and installation yourself.

IV. Precautions

  • Inspection Indicators: Focus on checking the structure (no rusting or weld cracking), roof/walls (no rust holes or water leakage), floor (no mildew or holes), insulation (rock wool not damp), electrical systems (no aging or exposed wires), and door and window sealing.
  • Transaction Security: Prioritize companies with qualification verification and a long establishment history. Sign a contract and clarify after-sales responsibilities to avoid risks associated with individual transactions.
  • Compliance: Some regions (such as downtown Beijing) have planning permit requirements for temporary buildings. Confirm in advance whether the site allows placement to avoid being identified as an illegal structure.
