Er Mu's Container House

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Er Mu's container house is a 200-square-meter white castle transformed from six old containers. Here is a detailed introduction to Er Mu's container house:

I. Background and Motivation for Renovation

Er Mu, originally named Xiao Jie, is a horticulturist and succulent enthusiast from Chongqing. Due to his passion for growing succulents, he quit his original foreign trade job, became an online horticulture blogger, and established a 3000-square-meter succulent garden. To realize a bigger dream, he rented a hillside, planning to create a true kingdom of flowers and plants. However, due to limited funds and the inability to afford the cost of building a new house, Er Mu decided to leverage his connections from his previous foreign trade work to purchase and renovate old containers as his residence.

II. Renovation Process and Features

Er Mu purchased six old containers and carried out a comprehensive renovation. He first cleared the weeds on the ground, positioned the containers, and then began interior decoration. By applying white paint and cutting out round holes of various sizes, he created a unique industrial-style design. Finally, he installed panoramic large glass windows, making the house resemble a dreamy castle when the lights are on at night.

III. House Scale and Supporting Facilities

After several months of renovation, Er Mu acquired this 200-square-meter white castle. The house is not only large in scale but also equipped with complete facilities. In addition to living space, Er Mu built anti-corrosion wooden fences and railings around the container house and painted them, making the entire area more aesthetically pleasing and functional. Furthermore, he has a 3000-square-meter yard serving as a succulent science museum and a whole mountain of plants for companionship.

IV. Advantages of Container Houses

Container houses offer the advantage of recycling. Through disassembly and assembly, they can be reused as temporary residences, urban offices, hotels, and creative spaces. Er Mu's container house not only fulfills his living dream but also adds a unique landscape to his kingdom of flowers and plants.
