Easy Container House Waterproofing

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Waterproofing for easy container houses requires special attention to areas such as panel seams, door and window closures, and roof joints, achieving effective waterproofing through material selection, process handling, and regular maintenance.

1. Key Waterproofing Areas and Treatment Processes

The weak points for waterproofing in container houses are concentrated at panel seams, door and window closures, and roof joints. Standard processes require dual treatment with waterproofing membranes and sealants: Panel seams should be fully sealed with sealant to ensure uninterrupted sealing; roof joints should be designed with proper drainage slopes, with panels overlapping in the direction of water flow to prevent water accumulation; door and window closures should be filled with sealant to prevent rainwater infiltration. For example, Nanjing Changyou Box-type Mobile Houses use structural adhesive to seal the seams on the iron sheet layer of the roof and tightly bond the moisture-proof film, eliminating leakage from both material and process perspectives.

2. Waterproofing Material Selection and Construction Specifications

The quality of waterproofing materials directly affects the waterproofing effect. It is necessary to select sealants and waterproofing membranes that are weather-resistant and anti-aging, avoiding the use of substandard materials that may lead to early failure. During construction, strict adherence to standard operations is required:

  1. The waterproofing adhesive applied to the roof should be evenly covered to avoid local thinning;
  2. The waterproofing membrane should be laid flat, with the overlap width meeting standards;
  3. The waterproof gaskets for fasteners should be replaced regularly to prevent aging and cracking.
    For example, container space capsules in rainy southern environments require enhanced waterproofing processes for roof and corner closures, using high-density waterproofing membranes in combination with sealants.

3. Regular Maintenance and Leakage Prevention

The waterproofing performance of container houses needs to be maintained through regular maintenance. It is recommended to replace the sealant every 5-7 years and clean the roof of leaves and debris annually to prevent water accumulation from corroding the steel plate. At the same time, it is necessary to inspect easily rusted areas such as welds, corners, and the base, and promptly apply paint for rust prevention to prevent rust from compromising the waterproofing layer. For example, containers in dry inland areas require reapplication of anti-corrosion paint every 8-12 years, while those in humid coastal environments require reapplication every 3-5 years.

4. Drainage System Design Optimization

A reasonable drainage system is an important supplement to waterproofing. Gutters should be designed with a transverse slope, and the outlets should be unobstructed to prevent water backflow. For example, container villa courtyards should ensure that the gutters are properly anti-corrosive to prevent rust erosion or debris from blocking the outlets, causing leaks or water backflow.
