Duplex Container House Images
Currently, we cannot directly provide images of duplex container houses, but we can describe their design features and case scenarios for reference.

Design Features of Duplex Container Houses
Duplex container houses typically employ double- or multi-level container stacking, expanding functional areas through vertical space utilization. For example, Guangzhou Jinge's product uses three 40-foot containers to form a duplex structure measuring 11.8m×6.75m×2.8m, with a usable area of 80 square meters, including living room, bedroom, kitchen, and other areas. The internal layout emphasizes separation of dynamic and static zones: the lower level is mostly for public activities (such as living room and kitchen), while the upper level is for private rest areas (such as bedroom and study). Some cases also connect terraces or balconies via stairs to enhance spatial hierarchy.
Typical Case Scenarios
Suburban Minimalist Residence
In one case, the exterior of the container is painted black, paired with a natural wood interior, creating a striking contrast. The roof features a large terrace, and the metal staircase is equipped with railings and bright green decorative strips on both sides, ensuring both safety and aesthetics. The interior adopts an open design, with large glass walls introducing natural light. The bathroom achieves waterproofing and storage through blue gradient tiles and a suspended sink.“Transformer” Tiny Home in the Forest
A couple transformed a 15㎡ container into a convertible space: the bed folds into a sofa during the day and unfolds into a double bed at night; the walls are embedded with cabinets and fire-resistant black materials, with a central stove for heating; the roof is equipped with solar panels for electricity, and the front and back doors connect to terraces, enabling seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living scenarios.Multi-functional Homestay Hotel
A project uses four 6-meter-long containers stacked in a staggered manner to form a 120㎡ residence. The first floor includes a living room, kitchen, and master bedroom, while the second floor has guest rooms, a study, and a terrace. The modular nature of containers allows for rapid assembly. The birch plywood walls and natural linoleum floors create a warm atmosphere, and small round windows enhance interaction between indoor and outdoor landscapes.
Renovation Key Points
Duplex container houses need to address issues such as thermal insulation, structural stability, and lighting and ventilation. For example, internal insulation layers and triple-glazed windows are used to improve energy efficiency; pile foundations or lifting rods are employed for moisture prevention; and skylights and terraces are utilized to optimize lighting and air circulation. Renovation costs vary depending on scale and configuration, with a 15㎡ case costing approximately 110,000 yuan, including foundation construction and decoration.
