Dung-Accumulating Portable Toilet
A dung-accumulating portable toilet is a facility that can be moved as a whole and comes with a built-in fecal and sewage storage tank. It is suitable for both fixed and temporary locations, offering convenience, durability, and environmental friendliness.

1. Structural Composition A dung-accumulating portable toilet typically consists of a fecal and sewage storage tank (or disposal unit), flooring, sanitary fixtures, walls, washing facilities, a water tank, a roof, and a mobile unit. Some models are made of high-density polyethylene, a material that is corrosion-resistant and aging-resistant, with a service life of over 20 years. The internal configuration is practical, such as foot-operated flush squat toilets, which reduce water consumption and are easy to operate and maintain.
2. Sewage Treatment Methods Based on sewage treatment technology, portable toilets can be classified into water-flush, waterless suction, recirculating water-flush, and dry-packing types. Dung-accumulating portable toilets mainly adopt the latter two methods:
- Waterless Suction Type: Feces are suctioned into the storage tank using a vacuum pump or negative pressure device and are regularly transported and treated by specialized vehicles. This method is suitable for areas with scarce water resources or high environmental protection requirements.
- Dry-Packing Type: Degradable film bags are used to seal and package feces without flushing. When the storage tank is full, the bag is simply replaced, achieving zero pollution emissions. This method is commonly used in ecologically sensitive areas or temporary events.
3. Design Principles The design of dung-accumulating portable toilets follows three core principles:
- Portability: The overall structure is lightweight yet sturdy, equipped with wheeled or towed mobile units for rapid deployment to target locations, meeting the needs of temporary exhibitions, disaster relief, and other scenarios.
- Economic Durability: Modular design allows for easy disassembly and replacement of components, reducing maintenance costs. The use of materials such as high-density polyethylene extends the facility's lifespan and reduces resource waste.
- Environmental Friendliness: Through closed storage or biodegradation technology, direct discharge of feces into the environment is avoided. Some models are also equipped with solar power systems to further reduce energy consumption.
4. Application Scenarios Due to their flexibility, dung-accumulating portable toilets are widely used in tourist attractions, construction sites, large gatherings, remote areas, and other locations. For example, in mountainous areas without municipal sewage networks, their independent operation solves sanitation challenges. At temporary music festivals, their quick installation ensures basic sanitation services.
