Development Status of Mobile Toilets

Admin 09 de octubre de 2026

The development status of mobile toilets exhibits diverse characteristics across different regions and types, showing a steady growth trend overall in China.

In terms of regional distribution: The eastern coastal regions, with their high urbanization levels and well-developed public facilities, are the most extensive areas for the application of eco-friendly mobile toilets. In 2024, these regions accounted for over 40% of the market demand, with Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Guangdong emerging as the primary growth engines due to their dense tourist attractions and active municipal projects. The central and western regions have witnessed significant market growth. Provinces such as Sichuan, Yunnan, and Gansu have accelerated the popularization of eco-friendly mobile toilets through increased government investment in rural and scenic area toilet renovations, guided by the Toilet Revolution policy.

Regarding product types: Water-saving and waterless eco-toilets are the dominant types. In 2024, water-saving eco-toilets held approximately 58% of the market share, suitable for locations with high foot traffic and relatively stable water supplies, such as urban parks, schools, and transportation hubs. Waterless eco-toilets, which do not require connection to water supply and drainage systems, are increasingly used in remote areas, nature reserves, and temporary construction sites, with a market share close to 35% in 2024.

In terms of technological approaches: Microbial degradation and foam sealing technologies are the mainstream solutions. Microbial degradation toilets achieve harmless treatment of excreta through efficient bacterial strains, with an adoption rate of about 46% in new projects in 2024. Foam sealing technology, characterized by low operating costs and easy maintenance, has been promoted in some scenic areas and municipal projects, accounting for about 29% of the market. Additional features such as solar power supply and intelligent monitoring are gradually becoming standard in high-end products, enhancing user experience and equipment intelligence.

Regarding the competitive landscape of enterprises: The market concentration of leading enterprises is gradually increasing. In 2024, the top five enterprises collectively accounted for nearly 60% of the market share, with significant advantages in technology research and development, manufacturing, and after-sales services, enabling them to provide customized solutions. As market competition intensifies, some small and medium-sized enterprises are focusing on niche areas, such as products suitable for plateau regions or weather-resistant designs for extreme climatic conditions, to establish differentiated competitive advantages.
