Dalian Container Mobile Housing
Dalian container mobile housing is a movable building unit designed and transformed based on standard containers, featuring industrial production, high structural strength, and flexible functionality.

Production Mode and Structural Characteristics
Dalian container mobile housing adopts a prefabricated production mode, where the main structure is processed and partially decorated in the factory, transforming traditional on-site operations into industrial production. Its structure is based on retired shipping containers, with the container body composed of thick steel plates. After screening, reinforcement, and surface treatment, a high-strength overall structure is formed. Compared to movable panel houses, it has stronger wind resistance but is heavier, requiring higher transportation and site foundation requirements. Standard container specifications (such as 20 feet and 40 feet) limit the internal clear height and width, with load-bearing relying on the four corner posts. During renovation, attention should be paid to the constraints of the top and bottom beam structures on window and door openings.
Internal Environment and Functional Positioning
In response to the thermal conductivity of the metal structure, insulation layers such as rock wool and polyurethane are installed internally to ensure thermal insulation and airtightness. The space can be expanded through modular combinations (horizontal or vertical splicing), and the container walls at the splicing surfaces can be removed to achieve spatial connectivity. Its functional positioning lies between professional residential buildings and temporary shelters, providing a durable and well-equipped space solution commonly found in construction site command centers, tourist attraction supporting facilities, or temporary workstations.
Environmental Protection and Renovation Points
Using retired containers extends the lifecycle of industrial products and reduces energy consumption from steel smelting, but the detection and repair of old containers require resource investment. Renovation points include:
- Connection Technology: Rely on high-strength splicing of corner fittings. When stacking, calculate the load-bearing capacity of the lower layer, reserve passageways, and optimize structural force transmission.
- Enclosure System: Install internal keels filled with thermal insulation and soundproofing materials. The roof can retain the original top with added drainage slopes or include additional lofts.
- Pipeline System: Plan the paths for strong and weak electricity, water supply and drainage, and match heating and air conditioning systems.
- Spatial Efficiency: Improve efficiency through customized furniture, vertical space utilization (such as lofts), and large-area lighting design.
- Protective Treatment: After rust removal from the steel structure, apply epoxy primer and polyurethane topcoat. The exterior walls can retain the original texture or add decorative layers, while the interior finishes must meet fire protection and environmental standards.
