COVID-19 Mobile Toilets
During the COVID-19 pandemic, mobile toilets have played a crucial role in epidemic prevention and control, featuring various innovative designs and technological applications that effectively reduce the risk of virus transmission.

Self-Cleaning 'Unmanned Toilets'
Developed by Hangzhou Zhide Pusi Technology Co., Ltd., the 'unmanned toilets' utilize automation technology for efficient cleaning. After a user leaves, the toilet bowl rotates to a rear chamber for cleaning and disinfection, while a spare toilet bowl rotates into place; a cleaning plate at the bottom automatically cleans the floor, and an ozone disinfection machine at the top sterilizes the space. The entire process is completed without human intervention within 6 to 10 minutes, reducing the possibility of cross-infection.Negative Pressure Mobile Toilets
The negative pressure mobile toilets from Lianjia Jisheng (Suzhou) Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. employ a negative pressure ventilation and sterilization system. Air from the lower level is drawn in through suction vents beside the squatting positions into a sterilization unit at the top, where positive oxygen ions are excited by ion tubes to kill bacteria and combine with odor molecules to form odorless compounds; negative oxygen ions freshen the air. The treated gas is discharged harmlessly. Its vacuum flushing technology prevents splashing of waste, further reducing the risk of bacterial and viral transmission, and has been used to support provincial entry points to Shanghai on highways.Emergency Prefabricated Mobile Toilets
Developed as part of the 'Key Technologies and Applications for Emergency Water Treatment and Safety Assurance,' these emergency mobile toilets integrate water-saving, energy-saving, and cleaning and disinfection technologies. They are molded in one piece through injection molding, making them sturdy, durable, and lightweight for easy mobility and deployment. The toilet bowls are connected to sewage pipes and fecal storage tanks to meet the needs of centralized disinfection of excreta, effectively preventing fecal-oral transmission. Over 700 of these toilets have been deployed in frontline epidemic prevention and control areas such as Wuhan's Fangcang hospitals and high-speed railway stations, and technical specifications have been compiled accordingly.Epidemic Prevention Smart Environmental Protection Mobile Public Toilets
Developed by the team led by Academician Meng Jianmin in Shenzhen, these epidemic prevention smart environmental protection mobile public toilets feature nano-mist disinfection, photocatalyst antibacterial and deodorizing functions. After each use, the system automatically performs nano-mist disinfection of the internal space, and the water supply, sewage systems, and integrated waste storage equipment are all designed with sealed disinfection functions. The photocatalyst panels on the toilet walls decompose ammonia nitrogen, and the negative pressure fresh air system quickly purifies the air. This series of toilets has applied for 34 patents and can be installed within 3 hours, having been put into use in multiple locations in Shenzhen.
