Courtyard Container House Design Drawings

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

Currently, there are no standard design drawings directly targeting courtyard container houses, but design inspiration and ideas can be obtained from the following cases:

"Floating House" Container Residence

This case uses recycled shipping containers to build an elevated residence. The entire building is lifted off the natural ground level and surrounded by native trees. Although this design does not directly focus on the courtyard, by elevating the building, the windows are level with the tree canopies, and the balconies are interspersed among the branches, creating a unique sense of space that blends with nature. In the design of courtyard container houses, the method of elevating the building can be borrowed to create a sense of hierarchy using terrain elevation differences. For example, partially elevate the container house, forming a semi-open courtyard space below that can provide shelter from wind and rain while also adding an element of fun to the space. At the same time, by reasonably arranging windows and balconies, the courtyard landscape and indoor space can interpenetrate, enhancing the living experience.

"Periscope Project"

This project consists of five intermodal containers forming a single unit. The linear and parallel arrangement of the containers defines an outdoor courtyard and a second-floor platform. The exposed areas are mainly used as auxiliary activity spaces, integrating the indoor volume with the outdoors and allowing natural light and ventilation to penetrate the building. In the design of courtyard container houses, the arrangement method of the containers can be referenced. By linearly or parallelly arranging the containers, the courtyard space can be clearly demarcated. At the same time, reasonably set up exposed areas, such as balconies and corridors, as transitional spaces between the indoors and outdoors, increasing the sense of transparency and openness of the space. In addition, pay attention to the design of natural light and ventilation. By setting up large windows or vents, the natural light and fresh air in the courtyard can fully enter the interior.

Foreign Mountain Resort Hotel

This hotel is composed of six containers and is built on a mountain according to the terrain. A courtyard naturally forms between two building blocks, and the rooms have large floor-to-ceiling windows. In the design of courtyard container houses, the method of using the terrain to create a courtyard can be borrowed. According to the actual terrain conditions, reasonably arrange the containers so that a courtyard space naturally forms between them. At the same time, set up large floor-to-ceiling windows to connect the indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing the visual extension of the space and allowing residents to better appreciate the courtyard landscape.
