Container Sunroom Roof

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

The design and installation of a container sunroom roof require comprehensive consideration of factors such as structural type, material selection, waterproofing treatment, and opening mechanism.

Structural Type

The structural types of container sunroom roofs mainly fall into two categories: welded integral boxes and bolt-connected assembled boxes. Welded integral boxes are welded into shape as a whole in the factory, with a direct load path. The roof load is transferred through the side wall columns to the bottom sill and then evenly distributed to the ground, providing strong resistance to deformation and making them suitable for frequent lifting and moving. In contrast, bolt-connected assembled boxes use standard panels connected by bolts, with multiple connection nodes along the load path. The tightness of each node directly affects the overall stability, so it is necessary to check the steel wall thickness of the columns and bottom sill when purchasing to ensure sufficient load-bearing redundancy.

Material Selection

Material selection for container sunroom roofs is crucial as it directly relates to the durability and safety of the sunroom. Aviation-grade 6061-T6 aluminum alloy frames are an ideal choice for sunroom roofs due to their strength comparable to that of steel structures and their surface treatment with powder coating and electrophoretic processes, providing good resistance to wind pressure, snow pressure, and hail impact. Meanwhile, German Bayer PC panels are preferred for the roofing material. These panels weigh only half as much as glass, have a light transmittance of up to 82%, and an impact resistance 2-20 times that of tempered glass, ensuring both spatial transparency and enhanced safety.

Waterproofing Treatment

Waterproofing treatment for container sunroom roofs is equally important. During installation, it is essential to ensure the sealing of connections between the roof and side walls, bottom sill, etc., to prevent rainwater leakage. Additionally, the roof slope should be reasonably designed to facilitate the smooth drainage of rainwater and avoid leakage caused by water accumulation.

Opening Mechanism

One of the distinctive features of container sunrooms is their flexible opening mechanisms. By installing a sliding rail system, the sunroom can achieve a telescopic folding design, with an opening area of up to 60%, enabling free switching between open-air and sunroom modes. This design not only improves ventilation and heat dissipation but also adds to the fun of use. There are two types of opening mechanisms available: manual and electric, which can be selected according to actual needs.
