Layout Plan for Container Renovation Houses

Admin 16 de septiembre de 2026

The layout design of container renovation houses should be planned according to the number of containers, area, and functional requirements. Common cases include single-container cabins, multi-container combined residences, and LOFT structures. Here are specific layout plans:

1. Layout of a 16.6㎡ Single-Container Cabin
This design focuses on efficient space utilization. On the left side of the entrance, there is a custom-made sofa, with a hidden wall bed in the wardrobe behind it to meet temporary accommodation needs. On the right side, two sets of brown small cabinets are arranged, serving both structural load-bearing functions and providing storage space. The internal areas are sequentially the kitchen, office area, and bathroom, with the bathroom using a barn sliding door to save space. A dining area is set opposite the kitchen, which can also serve as a temporary office area. The sleeping area is located behind the sofa at the entrance, and the wall bed can accommodate two people when lowered. The overall layout is compact with clear functional divisions, suitable for single occupants or couples.

2. Layout of an 18㎡ Single-Container Villa
This plan adopts a narrow and long layout. Upon entering, there is a living room area equipped with a foldable sofa bed to兼顾 (serve as) both rest and living functions. Further inside is a semi-open kitchen, forming a smooth flow with the living room. The bathroom is hidden behind the kitchen, achieving dry-wet separation through partitions. The overall area division of the house is regular, with complete functional facilities, suitable for small families or short-term living needs.

3. Layout of Multi-Container Combined Residences

  • 12-Container Grand Residence: The containers are wrapped with glass curtain walls and steel structures to form the overall architectural appearance. Inside, a double straight-run staircase connects the upper and lower floors. The ground floor is arranged with a living room with a fireplace, an open kitchen, and a dining area, forming the core activity area. The bedroom fireplace on the second floor is on the same axis as the living room on the ground floor, enhancing the sense of spatial depth.
  • 6-Container Grand Residence: Designed according to mountainous terrain, a courtyard is naturally formed between two container blocks, enhancing lighting and ventilation effects. The rooms are equipped with large floor-to-ceiling windows, introducing natural landscapes and improving living comfort.

4. Layout of Container LOFT
By stacking containers to form an upper and lower structure, an open dining area is left in the middle of the house. The overhanging eaves are enclosed with curtains to form a terrace, expanding outdoor activity space. This type of design is suitable for residents pursuing personalization and spatial hierarchy, and can achieve multi-functional area division through flexible partitioning.

Summary of Design Points: Single containers should prioritize meeting basic functional divisions and improve space utilization through foldable furniture and hidden designs. Multi-container combinations can be combined with terrain and landscapes to enhance overallness through axis alignment and courtyard designs. LOFT structures should focus on vertical space utilization and circulation planning. In actual renovations, layout plans should be adjusted according to container dimensions, load-bearing structures, and usage requirements.
