Power Supply for Container Renovated Houses

Admin 14 de septiembre de 2026

The power supply plan for container renovated houses should be designed based on the renovation type, energy demand, and technical feasibility. Common plans include connecting to the mains power, configuring energy storage systems, or integrating photovoltaic power generation, with specific choices depending on the house's purpose, budget, and environmental conditions.

1. Mains Power Connection Plan

If the renovated container house is located in an area covered by the mains power grid, it can directly apply for connection. For example, the container renovation project at the north bank of the Qianwan Port Area by Qingdao Port Power Supply Company in Shandong achieved stable power supply by purchasing power cables, suitable for long-term fixed use scenarios. This plan requires consideration of cable specifications, distribution box configuration, and electrical safety regulations to ensure compliance with local power department requirements.

2. Energy Storage System Plan

For off-grid or emergency scenarios, energy storage battery packs can be used for power supply. For instance, a 20-foot container-type liquid-cooled energy storage system cabin can store 5,700 kWh of electricity, meeting the power needs of a household for 19 months, suitable for remote areas or temporary housing. The energy storage system should select battery capacity based on power load, configure inverters to convert direct current to alternating current, and regularly maintain battery health.

3. Photovoltaic Power Generation Integration Plan

Some renovation projects embed photovoltaic modules into the roof or exterior walls, forming a 'power-generating skin'. For example, Apple Pod containers achieve off-grid operation by combining custom crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules with large-capacity energy storage battery packs, supporting full-scenario power use such as air conditioning and lighting. The photovoltaic plan requires evaluation of local sunlight conditions, reasonable design of photovoltaic panel tilt angles and areas, and configuration of charge controllers to prevent battery overcharging.

4. Comprehensive Energy Plan

A hybrid system combining photovoltaic, energy storage, and mains power can enhance power supply reliability. For example, in extreme climate areas, Apple Pods adopt a photovoltaic + floor heating + air conditioning dual heating system, combined with heat pump auxiliary heating technology, to ensure indoor constant temperature. Such plans require integration of an energy management system to monitor power use in real-time and automatically switch power sources, optimizing energy utilization efficiency.
