Container Mobile House Water Floor Heating

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Container mobile houses can be equipped with water floor heating, but adaptation is required based on specific product characteristics and installation conditions.

1. Adaptability of Container Mobile Houses
Container mobile houses are mostly made of steel structures, providing a basic condition for installing water floor heating. For example, the "Cross-border Wholesale Z-type Mobile Folding Packing Box" offered by Foshan Jiuma Zhonghui Integrated Housing Technology Co., Ltd. is clearly marked as "with floor heating," indicating that some products have reserved space for floor heating installation. However, it should be noted that for ordinary container houses without pre-designed floor heating systems, structural load-bearing capacity, thermal insulation performance, and floor height need to be evaluated during renovation. For instance, the floor heating system requires the laying of thermal insulation layers, reflective films, and coils, with a total thickness of about 8-10 centimeters, which may affect the indoor net height. Meanwhile, the strong thermal conductivity of the container's metal walls necessitates enhanced exterior wall insulation (such as adding rock wool boards) to reduce heat loss.

2. Selection of Water Floor Heating Systems

  • Traditional Water Floor Heating: It needs to be connected to a heat source (such as a gas wall-mounted boiler or an air-source heat pump) and a manifold, circulating hot water through buried coils for heating. For example, the Borui variable-frequency water floor heating adopts air-source heat pump technology and can operate in environments as cold as -20℃, making it suitable for northern cold regions. However, it requires an external power supply and equipment space, which may increase the difficulty of container renovation.
  • Mobile Water Circulation Heaters: If the container needs to be moved frequently, lightweight mobile floor heating equipment can be considered. Such equipment circulates hot water through built-in water tanks and electric heating elements. Although the heating area is limited (usually covering 15-28㎡), it does not require buried coils and is suitable for temporary use scenarios.

3. Key Installation Steps

  • Structural Reinforcement: Ensure that the container floor can withstand the weight of the concrete backfill layer (about 5cm thick) of the floor heating to avoid deformation.
  • Thermal Insulation Treatment: Lay extruded polystyrene boards (XPS) and reflective aluminum foil on the ground to reduce heat conduction downward.
  • Coil Laying: Design the coil spacing (usually 15-20cm) according to the container layout, avoiding areas where furniture will be placed.
  • System Integration: Connect the manifold, thermostat, and heat source equipment, and conduct a water pressure test (at least 1.5 times the working pressure) to ensure no leakage.

4. Cost and Maintenance

  • Initial Cost: Container houses with floor heating are more expensive (for example, the product from Foshan Jiuma costs about 10,925 yuan), and renovation costs need to include materials and labor separately.
  • Operating Cost: Air-source heat pumps are about 66% more energy-efficient than electric heaters, but the initial investment is higher. Gas wall-mounted boilers need to consider the convenience of fuel supply.
  • Maintenance: Regularly check for coil leaks and manifold blockages. When moving the container, the system needs to be drained to prevent freezing and cracking.
