Container Mobile House Sandwich Panel
The container mobile house sandwich panel is a composite panel with a metal panel as the surface layer and an insulating material as the core material. It has characteristics such as lightweight and high strength, thermal insulation, fire resistance, and sound insulation, and is widely used in the field of temporary buildings.

Structure and Material Composition
The sandwich panel is made by bonding or laminating two layers of metal panels (such as galvanized steel sheets or aluminum alloy sheets) with an insulating core material filled in between.
- Surface Metal Panel: Usually, galvanized steel sheets or aluminum alloy sheets with a thickness of 0.3 - 0.8 millimeters are used. They provide impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and serve as the structural load-bearing layer.
- Core Material: Commonly used materials include expanded polystyrene (EPS), rock wool, glass wool, or polyurethane (PU). Among them, rock wool and glass wool are Class A non-combustible materials with excellent fire resistance. EPS is low-cost but flammable and requires the addition of flame retardants. PU combines thermal insulation and strength but is relatively expensive.
Core Performance Characteristics
- Lightweight and High Strength: After the combination of the metal panel and the core material, the unit weight is light, and the structural strength is high. It can withstand wind loads, snow pressure, and equipment vibrations. For example, a combination of a 0.8-millimeter corrugated steel sheet and a 100-millimeter rock wool sandwich panel can meet the thermal insulation requirements in an environment of -30℃.
- Thermal Insulation: The low thermal conductivity of the core material (e.g., rock wool has a thermal conductivity of about 0.03 - 0.04 W/(m·K)) effectively buffers indoor and outdoor temperature fluctuations and reduces energy consumption.
- Fire Safety: Class A core materials (rock wool, glass wool) are flame-retardant, reducing the risk of fire. Class B1 materials (such as modified EPS) are suitable for low-risk areas.
- Sound Insulation and Moisture Resistance: The core material absorbs sound waves, and the metal panel blocks noise. Core materials like rock wool have low water absorption, preventing condensation and are suitable for areas with large temperature differences between day and night.
Application Scenarios and Selection Recommendations
- Construction Sites: Used as dormitories, offices, or warehouses. It is advisable to prioritize the selection of Class A fire-resistant rock wool sandwich panels to ensure safety.
- Cold Regions: For example, in Jining, it is necessary to use high-density rock wool (≥100kg/m³) and anti-condensation design to prevent condensation on the inner walls.
- Temporary Homestays/Holiday Houses: Polyurethane sandwich panels can be selected to balance thermal insulation and lightweight properties, but fire prevention measures need to be strengthened.
- High Wind Pressure Environments: For example, in Baotou, which has strong winds in spring, it is necessary to increase the thickness of the steel sheet (≥0.6 millimeters) and optimize the frame load-bearing design.
Maintenance and Precautions
The sandwich panel requires regular inspection of the anti-corrosion coating on the metal panel to prevent rusting. The performance of the core material deteriorates after water absorption, so it is necessary to prevent rainwater leakage. During repeated disassembly and assembly, ensure that the screw connections are firm to avoid structural looseness.
