Rock Wool Board for Container Mobile Houses

Admin 17 de septiembre de 2026

When container mobile houses use rock wool board as a material, they possess multiple functions such as waterproofing, sun protection, anti-aging, thermal insulation, sound insulation, and fire resistance, making them a common choice in the construction field.

Core Functional Characteristics of Rock Wool Board

Rock wool board is an inorganic panel made by fiberizing natural ores such as basalt after high-temperature melting. With stable physical and chemical properties, it plays a crucial role in container mobile houses:

  1. Outstanding Fire Resistance: Rock wool board is classified as a Class A non-combustible material with a melting point exceeding 1000°C, effectively blocking the spread of flames. In container houses, the rock wool sandwich structure can form a fire barrier. Even if exposed to fire locally, it will not produce toxic smoke, meeting building fire safety regulations.
  2. Significant Thermal Insulation Effect: There are numerous still air layers inside rock wool fibers, resulting in a low thermal conductivity (approximately 0.036 - 0.040W/(m·K)), which can effectively reduce heat exchange between the interior and exterior. Under extreme weather conditions, rock wool board can maintain a stable temperature inside the container, reducing energy consumption for air conditioning or heating.
  3. Strong Sound Insulation and Noise Reduction Capability: The porous structure of rock wool fibers can absorb sound wave energy and reduce airborne sound transmission. Experiments show that a 50mm-thick rock wool board can achieve a sound insulation level of over 30dB for medium- and high-frequency noise, making it suitable for places requiring a quiet environment.
  4. Weather Resistance and Anti-Aging Properties: Rock wool board has stable chemical properties and is not affected by ultraviolet rays, acid-base corrosion, or humid environments, with a service life of over 25 years. Its surface is usually covered with color-coated steel plates or aluminum foil, further enhancing its waterproof and sun-resistant capabilities.

Typical Application Scenarios of Container Houses

Taking the products of Jiangsu Baochipeng Industry Co., Ltd. as an example, its residential container houses use rock wool sandwich panels as the main structure, with columns reinforced with 2.5mm-thick steel. The standard dimensions are 6×3×2.9m or 7×3×2.9m. This design not only ensures structural strength but also enables rapid assembly and disassembly through modular design. The lightweight characteristic of rock wool board (density approximately 80 - 150kg/m³) reduces transportation costs, and its reusable and disassemblable nature makes it suitable for scenarios such as construction site dormitories, temporary offices, forest guard houses, and fish pond management houses, especially for short-term projects that require frequent relocation.

Extended Advantages of Rock Wool Board in the Construction Field

Rock wool board is not only used in container houses but also widely applied in the wall and roof systems of industrial plants, cold storages, stadiums, and other buildings. Its environmental friendliness (asbestos-free and recyclable) and energy efficiency (meeting green building standards) align with modern construction trends, making it a preferred alternative to traditional thermal insulation materials.
