Container Mobile House with Large Area
The large-area specifications of container mobile houses are mainly achieved through the splicing of standard containers or customized expansions. Common large-area solutions include 40-foot standard containers, multi-container splicing, and expandable designs, covering an area range from 20 square meters to over 100 square meters.

I. Original Area of Standard Containers
The basic unit of a container mobile house is a standard shipping container, whose dimensions directly affect the area of a single container. A 20-foot standard container has external dimensions of 6058×2438×2591mm, with an internal usable area of approximately 14-15 square meters; a 40-foot standard container has external dimensions of 12192×2438×2591mm, with an internal area of about 28-30 square meters. The height of a 40-foot high-cube container (40HQ) increases to 2896mm, but its length and width remain the same as those of a regular 40-foot container, so its area is still 28-30 square meters, with only an increase in ceiling height.
II. Multi-Container Splicing for Large Area
By splicing multiple standard containers horizontally or vertically, the usable area can be quickly expanded. For example:
- Splicing of two 20-foot containers: Horizontally splicing two 20-foot containers results in a total length of 12 meters and an area of about 28-30 square meters; vertical splicing doubles the width to 4.8 meters, also increasing the area.
- Combination of 40-foot and 20-foot containers: Commonly used in mixed office and dormitory scenarios, with the 40-foot container serving as the main office area (about 30 square meters) and the 20-foot container as an auxiliary functional room (such as a conference room or restroom), totaling an area of about 45 square meters.
- Modular splicing of multiple containers: Using light steel keels and color steel plates as connecting structures, 3-4 40-foot containers can be spliced into an L-shaped or U-shaped layout, with a total area of up to 80-120 square meters, suitable for temporary offices in industrial parks or event planning sites.
III. Expandable Design to Increase Area
Adding side or end expansion modules to standard containers can significantly increase the usable area:
- Single-side expansion: Adding a 3-meter-wide expansion module to one side of a 40-foot container increases the area by about 30%, with the total usable area increasing from 30 square meters to 39 square meters.
- Double-side expansion: Adding 3-meter expansion modules to both sides increases the area by more than 50%, with a total usable area of 45-50 square meters, suitable for long-term on-site offices or scenarios with high requirements for spatial comfort.
- End expansion: Adding a foldable or sliding expansion module to the end of a container increases the area by 20-40% when expanded, and the expanded part can be independently enclosed, flexibly adapting to different functional requirements.
IV. Customized Large-Area Solutions
According to project requirements, non-standard-sized container houses can be fully customized:
- Width and length adjustment: The width can be selected from 2.5 meters, 3 meters, 4 meters, etc., and the length can be extended to 6 meters, 8 meters, 12 meters, with a single-container area covering 15-50 square meters.
- Ceiling height customization: The height can be adjusted to 2.6 meters, 2.7 meters, 2.9 meters, meeting requirements for vertical space, such as in exhibition halls or gyms.
- Irregular structures: By cutting and welding containers, irregular houses with curved or polygonal shapes can be designed, further optimizing space utilization.
