Is the Container Mobile House Hot?
If not treated, container mobile houses can be quite hot in summer, but through reasonable design and modification, effective thermal insulation can be achieved, enabling warmth in winter and coolness in summer.

Thermal Insulation Principle of Container Mobile Houses
The outer surface of container houses is mostly made of metal materials, which have a low specific heat capacity and high heat transfer efficiency. If left untreated, there are indeed issues of being hot in summer and cold in winter. However, modern residential container houses have solved this problem through a multi-layer structural design:
- Outer Layer: Made of anti-corrosion color-coated steel plates, which can reflect sunlight and reduce heat absorption.
- Middle Layer: Equipped with a polyurethane foam layer of more than 50mm, which can effectively block heat conduction and reduce heat exchange between the interior and exterior.
- Inner Layer: Uses fire-resistant gypsum boards combined with moisture-proof films to jointly control humidity and stabilize temperature, further enhancing living comfort.
Actual Performance of Thermal Insulation
According to the national 'Technical Standard for Steel Structure Integrated Houses', the heat transfer coefficient of the walls of residential containers should be ≤ 0.45W/(㎡·K), and the thermal insulation efficiency is 1.8 times that of traditional brick-and-mortar walls. Measured data shows that in summer, the temperature inside the cabin rises 22 minutes slower than outside at noon, and in winter, the indoor temperature only drops by 1.3℃ after being closed for 8 hours. This delayed response characteristic makes the body feel more stable and avoids the discomfort of sudden temperature changes.
Modification Measures to Improve Thermal Insulation
- Select High-Quality Thermal Insulation Materials: Such as polystyrene boards, polyurethane foam boards, and rock wool boards. These materials have low thermal conductivity and good thermal insulation performance.
- Add Thermal Insulation Layers: Install thermal insulation layers on the outer wall surface or interior walls, such as externally hung thermal insulation boards and interior thermal insulation boards, to form a thermal insulation barrier.
- Optimize Door and Window Design: Use double-layer or triple-layer insulated glass to reduce the thermal conductivity coefficient; install sealing strips on the edges of doors and windows to reduce heat leakage.
- Detail Handling: Seal the joints of thermal insulation materials, connection parts, and the junctions between the thermal insulation layer and the container structure with sealing materials to prevent heat leakage.
- Install Temperature Control Equipment: Install air conditioners, graphene floor heating systems, and other facilities to further regulate indoor temperature.
