Hazards of Container Mobile Houses

Admin 15 de septiembre de 2026

Container mobile houses pose multiple hazards, including fire safety risks, structural safety risks, illegal land occupation and neighbor disputes, as well as environmental and hygiene issues.

Fire Safety Risks: Most illegally modified containers are constructed using flammable sandwich panels, which do not meet fire resistance standards. Once a fire breaks out, it spreads rapidly and produces toxic smoke, making escape difficult. Additionally, issues such as unauthorized electrical wiring, mixed use of high-power appliances, and the use of bottled gas indoors are common in containers, leading to prominent risks of electric shock and fire.

Structural Safety Risks: To reduce costs, some containers use inferior materials or simplified structures, resulting in poor overall stability. For example, there have been cases where unreinforced containers were blown apart in winds of magnitude 8, revealing insufficient wind resistance. Furthermore, steel is prone to rust when exposed to humid environments for extended periods. Without professional anti-corrosion treatment, this further weakens structural safety.

Illegal Land Occupation and Neighbor Disputes: Containers illegally occupy collective land and rural roads, blocking fire exits. This not only constitutes illegal construction but also frequently triggers neighbor disputes, with numerous complaints from the public. Their haphazard stacking and dilapidated appearance also mar the village landscape, hindering the construction of a harmonious and beautiful countryside.

Environmental and Hygiene Issues: Containers have limited internal space and poor ventilation and lighting, making them prone to odors due to environmental pollution. Meanwhile, their relatively short service life leads to an increase in related safety hazards over time. Although the material recycling rate is high, improper disposal after abandonment can still have an impact on the environment.
